Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
Infrared work & Straight black & white or color! No gimmicks that will date your work!
 
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
All types--I use any ambient lighting and match it with flash if necessary for a very natural look.
 
Is your media preference film or digital?
Digital; infrared.
 
How many photographers do you work with?
1 or 2 depending on package
 
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
YES!!
 
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
Sometimes twice a weekend, but never twice a day.
 
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes--I have a great network of colleagues in the area that we all rely on for any unforeseen problems.
 
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Canon 1Ds MKII, Canon 20D, 2 strobes, 2 tripods, stool (for us vertically challenged!), light meter, Canon L series lenses (fish eye, 70-200, 24-70, 50mm 1.4, 85 mm 1.2, lens baby), batteries etc
 
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yep--I always keep my pro film equipment with fresh film nearby.
 
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Full day, or for weekday or small weddings hourly can be worked out
 
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Just one for a meal, but since I offer unlimited coverage I need a break once every 10 hours, or twice every 12.
 
Do you charge for travel?
Not if it is 60 minutes or so from my home base in Portsmouth NH.
 
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
About 3 weeks.
 
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Online hosting at Pictage.com & a custom slideshow.
 
How long can the client keep the proofs?
Forever if they are part of their package.
 
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yep, but couple has full personal printing rights (or upload rights to Snapfish, iPhoto etc)
 
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yep.
 
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Digital files are included in every package.
 
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes--at Pictage.com for at least 3 months.
 
What kind of albums do you offer?
Cypress, WillowBook
 
When will the client get the final album?
Timeline depends on how quickly you choose the images on Pictage and approve the final design. Typically 9-12 weeks.
