Wedding and Event FAQ
What makes us better than most?
We treat all people with honesty, integrity and respect with a mature and caring attitude. Were good at listening to the clients needs. We have great people skills and eleven years experience with creating artistic and unique professional images. We are able to uniquely blend photojournalism and classical portraiture without being in your face. We have a solid understanding of light and using it from natural and artificial sources. We also have full liability coverage as a full time professional studio. We may not always be the best fit or choice for some people, but will always do our best to satisfy the clients we serve.

What do we consider the most important part of an Event?
First, that the end result gives people the type of images they asked for in a sincere caring way. I define events as Weddings, Bar or Bat Mitzvah or Large family parties or special event.

What are obstacles quality photographers face doing event work?
Getting the job for this reason. Professionals photographers now face a real challenge with being compared to a flood of amateur weekend photographers that are most often inexperienced in what they are doing with very little understanding of lighting, posing or composition and often less of post event image preparation and color management for professional images. Select a photographer based on end results.

Why are there no prices on the site for event photography?
I had my prices posted for viewing and even download for years, after perusing web sites of my competitors that I felt did quality work I saw the majority of those competitors had no prices listed. I thought they must have a reason. I believe that reason was that if people are going to really compare apples to apples or in this case photographers they need to contact those that spark an interest and see what they do in person whenever possible. In reality web sites can only show so much. After eleven years of doing over two hundred major events I feel I have the portfolio and experience that speaks for itself. If people want a general range of my event fees I ask a lot of questions regarding that persons needs. When I understand peopleís needs I can better offer something that may fit those needs. I will be happy to answer any questions and send anyone my fee structure.

What are your policies for events?
We reserve the right to edit our work and work from a plan we develop with the clients before the event. Basic retouch is done at no cost on all prints orders and finished albums as needed. The first fifty miles travel from the Lancaster studio is free. After fifty miles we charge a flat fee based on the location and travel involved. Extra Print and Album orders require fifty percent down at order and the balance at delivery. We accept the Discover, Visa and MasterCard credit cards, cash and checks.

Franklin Tunis Photography retains the rights to use any photographic image we created of your events coverage for publication and display. Clients may not copy or reproduce any image created by us in any way without our written permission. Exceptions are when image rights are included in some cases.

Clients pay shipping and insurance fees on any items clients requested to be mailed. One year after delivery of any finished album the clients may have all digital images on CD(s) with no watermark if the fees from their event are paid in full.

Payments for A La Carte Clients: A non-refundable five hundred dollar down payment is required to hold a date. A second payment of seventy percent of the total plans price with tax is due by the event. The final payment of thirty percent is due when the web gallery goes online after the wedding.

Payments for Package Clients: A non-refundable five hundred dollar down payment is required to hold a date. A second payment of seventy percent of the total package price with tax is due by the event. The final thirty percent is due when you place your finished album selections or four months after the event date whichever comes first.

Tips and Advice
Look at three to five photographers you like that fit within your budget. Do not be sold just by friends recommendations or a state of the art web site, as many fine and poor photographers have good web sites. It is your wedding not you friends. Every effort should be made to meet with the photographer, see some real work, ask questions and get a sense of how you feel you would get along with that person. Spending a bit more than planned may be worth the cost over the span of a marriage. A photographer with no personality can make the wedding day stressful.
