About
Every bride needs someone who can organize, mediate, and negotiate to create the perfect day. This is the role of an event planner. Unfortunately most people consider hiring a professional wedding coordinator a luxury, when it should be considered a priority.

Everyone wants to enjoy the celebration, not become overwhelmed with all of the details it takes to bring a successful event together. Often times the Wedding Coordinator is considered the most valuable vendor hired by the end of the event.

A Big Sky Event plans weddings,
special occasions, family reunions and corporate events throughout Northwest Montana. Our enthusiasm for the Industry, attention to every detail, positive attitude, and tireless work ethic
will save you time and money (and your relationships) as you embark on planning the most memorable events of your life!

Owner and operator of A Big Sky Event - Shionagh Stuehler personally oversees and supervises every detail of each wedding and event planned and designed by her company.

Tips and Advice

Sit down with your fiancé and figure out your wedding priorities. Sort out what it is that you absolutely must have on your wedding day and what you can live without. This will not only help you when choosing a reception location but it will help you with all of your other wedding choices as well.  Express yourself. Think about what kind of wedding you would like to have. Do you want it to be classic, funky, traditional or unique? Don’t choose a reception venue based on your parents’ or your friends’ expectations. Choose a location that reflects the personalities of both you and your husband-to-be. Remember that this is your special day and you need to pick a spot that makes you happy and excited.

• There is a gown style for every figure type. Define your figure and look for the most flattering style for you.Your underwear is just as important as your dress. There is nothing worse than a bra that’s too tight and causes bulges in the back. (No one wants to see back cleavage) Choose the dress first then buy your underwear and try it all on together. If it doesn’t look right, exchange the underwear and start again. Most Bridal boutiques carry lingerie for one stop shopping! Pick up some bridal magazines, sit your bridal bum down in a comfy spot and figure out what wedding dress styles attract you. Have fun, be daring and most importantly... BE TRUE TO YOURSELF!!

• It’s a nice idea to suggest that your bridesmaids choose their own style of dress in the color scheme you want them to wear. This offers them the ease of choosing a dress that suits their style and fits their bodies (and budget). They can purchase it from their own home town and email you a photo of themselves in the dress, to assure you how great they look!

Although you might belong to a specific religion most clergy affiliated with a church will not travel outside the church for an outdoor ceremony.  If your heart is set on an outdoor wedding a non-denominational minister will still provide a spiritual element and provide you with different choices for the most important part of your day.

Go With the flow through out the day. Don't think of every setback as a catastrophe or spend time worrying about what might happen. Accept things for what they are and focus on controlling your efforts - not the outcome. By devoting your full attention to the situation at hand, you will feel more relaxed and in control and the future will take care of itself.
