Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
We offer black and white or sepia conversions at no charge! Spot Coloring (aka 'hand coloring') is quoted on a per project basis, We also work with our customers to custom design beautiful digital flush mount albums
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
We've photographed over 500 weddings, we've see it all. From candlelight only events and overcast days to harsh sunlight, we can handle it with great results.
Is your media preference film or digital?
We photograph all of our weddings using high end professional Canon 'digital' equipment. Film, haven't used it in years. Digital has achieved the state where it is dependable and creates incredible quality photographs. All major publications and news agencies use digital. A print made from a decent sized digital file is indistinguishable from one made from film.
How many photographers do you work with?
Two, Patrice and Stephen, always. If you book with us you get us not a substitute, it doesn't matter if you choose to go with the most basic service we offer. It's a lot more fun to shoot with a partner, we get better coverage and you get more images.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Patrice and Stephen are the only photographers at Aaronstadt. We have never missed a wedding.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
We never book more than one wedding a day. We want to devote all of our energies and focus to make the coverage the very best it can be.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
We have associations with many other photographers in the area. Many of them have actually been trained by us. In the unusual circumstance that we were not able to attend and photograph the wedding it would be covered.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We use professional Canon cameras, lenses and flashes. Our supplemental lighting (for formals and the photobooth) consists of Alien Bee mono-lights with wireless transceivers.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes; cameras, flashes, flashcards, strobes and brownies.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Our price is organized by 'package' (more info is available on the website).
However, time can be added to any package.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
We are always available if an event goes long. We charge $125/hr and bill in 1/2 hr increments ($62.50) We never do money 'stuff' on the day of the wedding, We would bill you later.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
If there is action going on we are shooting. There are 'moments' during the day when it is possible to 'take 5' without actually scheduling breaks into the day
Do you charge for travel?
We include 30 mile and 1 hour of travel with any package. Some of our more inclusive packages extend the mileage allowance to 2.5 hours and 100 miles. After the mileage allowance is met we charge .45/mile + $25./hr.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Three to four weeks after the wedding we send an email notice and directions on how to access a private preview website for viewing electronic proofs
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Electronic online images.
How long can the client keep the proofs?
The preview website is 'hosted' for six months with a six month extension upon request.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
We 'share' the copyright with you.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
When we initiate a contract there is an area where you may give us permission to publish or not, it is up to you.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Every wedding includes copyright free reproduction quality digital files on DVD-ROM.
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes. Once the images are carefully edited and arranged in a easy to view story of your wedding, they are uploaded to a password protected website where you and your family and friends can preview and/or order images.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer traditional 'matted' albums as well as digital flush mount and coffee table books
When will the client get the final album?
That depends upon the type of album you decide to include in your package, how long it takes you to choose which images are going into it and in the case of a digital album, how long it takes for you to approve the design once we have created it.
