We are a husband and wife photography team in the Grand Rapids area, though we will travel as requested. 

We focus on the more photojournalistic style of photography and love the little details that make your wedding day as wonderful as it will be.  We look forward to capturing the real laughter and smiles that make your day uniquely yours!

 

Graceful Expressions Calligraphy and Fine Hand Lettering Design

Some of my favorite pictures from our wedding day were not just those of our hired photographer, but of those taken by Steph and her husband, Craig. While our photographer was busy getting the "real shots", Stephenie and Craig suprised us by getting the shots of the little details that I would have never seen. One of their images instantly became one of my husband's favorite - and for our first anniversary, Steohenie and Craig graciously gave him permission to have an artisit paint an interpertation of their photograph, to which they were honored to have him select from a picture that they took. On a side note, Stephenie and her husband Craig, and my husband Kevin and I go back many years - before marriages, kids, calligraphy, and photography - when we were (all!)interns at Walt Disney World through Grand Valley State in 1996. I can tell you that Stef is an amazing person who just wants to spread God's grace around this world and Craig will do anything for anyone at anytime. They are wonderful(and extremely talented!) friends - you would be very fortunate to have them help capture your special moments.

How would you identify your photographic style? Photojournalistic and the traditional formal shots as desired

Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning? We offer many different styles of special techniques - please contact us for questions!

Is your media preference film or digital? Digital

How many photographers do you work with? You will always have 2 photographers - we have 3 that we work with.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event? Yes, absolutely!!

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one wedding in a day? Weekend? Not more than one wedding in a day, but sometimes more than one in a weekend.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the wedding day? Yes!

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of? We typically bring 2 cameras, 4 lenses, lighting equipment, flash, reflectors, and extension cords.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction? Absolutely!

Do you charge hourly or full day? We can do both, depending on need, but typically for the day.

If hourly, are you available for shooting overtime? If so, how much do you charge for overtime? Yes - our overtime is $100/hour.

Do you require a meal break? If yes, do you require that the wedding party provide your meal? Yes, we require a meal break and, we do ask that the bridal party provide a meal for the 2 photographers at the reception. We eat as quickly as we can so we don't miss much of your reception!

How many breaks do you usually take throughout the day? Generally one aside from the meal depending on what the needs are for the photographer.

Do you charge for travel? We give you 100 miles round trip as included in your package. Each additional 50 miles total is $20.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing? 2-3 weeks in our on-line galleries

In what format are the initial proofs offered? On our web-site, though a CD can be ordered

Do you retain the copyright for the photos? Yes

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos? Yes

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the couple? For a fee

Will images be available for viewing on an online gallery? Yes

When will I get the final book? 6-8 weeks after your order is placed!!

The photographs taken on your wedding day will be cherished forever, so it's important to choose your photographer wisely.  We would love that opportunity to do so, but even if you don't choose us, we highly recommend that you spend time with your photographer BEFORE your wedding day to get to know them and begin to develop that rapport.  This is the number one reason all of our packages INCLUDE an engagement session - so we can get to know you better, putting you to more ease on your wedding day!  We LOVE weddings, they are our favorite thing to do, and hopefully you see that in our work!
