Would you have your wedding on your birthday yes or no???

Kokila24, on August 23, 2013 at 7:06 AM Posted in Planning 0 47

The reason why I am asking this question is because my soon to be husband and I both birthday is in October is that a good thing or a bad thing to have your wedding as the same month as your birthday or on your birthday and how would you do the gifts. Wedding is 10-24-15 which is on my birthday and his is four days later on the 28th of October.

My FH's sister got married on her birthday, which also happens to be September 11th.…she enjoys it because she gets extra pampered lol, but if all three are together you could just celebrate all month!

And as far as gifts I don't think it would make much difference you would just celebrate them together and get gifts for both occasions

I really didn't want our wedding date originally because it's 5 days after my birthday & I like being able to celebrate my bday as a just for me thing. But the date is set & I figure now FH will just have to put a lil extra effort that month lol. He def can't forget the date either now. If the Oct date is a great date wedding wise then go for it. You still get Xmas & Mother's Day Smiley smile

I also think it's cute how yours & FHs bdays are so close. This could make the date extra special for you too.

Eta: as far as gifts go I'd say one bigger gift to cover the 2 dates. Like jewelry, a weekend trip together, couples massage etc. I also think it would be super cute since bdays you always have cake, you could get the same flavor as your wedding cake for your bday cake & make it a tradition.

No way. But my birthday is Christmas Eve so I've been skimped on with presents/celebrations all my life.

Yeah why not? I'm getting married 1 week after my birthday.

We planned a Vegas trip with another couple a few years ago to celebrate us girls Birthdays as they are 3 days apart. Then they decided get married while we were there. Second marriages for both of them. Does not seem to have made a difference to them - and it is easy for him to remember.

For me - nope - but only because I never wanted to get married in one of the hottest months in Texas. Not because it might be on my birthday.

I wouldn't. I want my birthday to be mine and my wedding anniversary to be for H and I to share.

SIL got married on her 30th birthday. I guess there was a long standing joke that she was going to get married on her 30th birthday. It just turned out that her 30th birthday was on a Saturday and it was one of the days her venue was available when she booked. She jokes that it only gives her husband 1 date to remember, not 2.

I would. It would mean I'd never forget my anniversary and FH and I have a no big anniversary gifts rule.

No reason not to unless like others stated your bday is a huge deal to you.

    Heck no.

First of all, my birthday is in June. Prime wedding season, no wiggle room on prices. No thanks. Plus it is summer and I hate summer with the passion of a thousands suns.

Second, my birthday is my own little holiday! I love my birthday and I would just want it to stay my birthday, not my birthday AND my anniversary.

I wouldn't do it personally, I'd rather keep the two separate. My birthday is March 4, so it's kind of random for a wedding, especially in upstate NY when the weather can be awful. FH's birthday is August 20, but my cousin got married on this day a few years back... So that would be out as well.

NO WAY. My birthday is in August, so it's hot as hell in Florida. But more importantly...my brithday is a huge deal to me, and I don't like combining celebrations.

My friend and her husband both have the same birthday so they were married on their birthday. I'm sure they will celebrate BIG every year.

I just had this discussion with my FH. We are touring our possible (and most likely) venue on Sunday and one of there only fall 2014 dates is my birthday. (september 6) but we are hoping to snag a november date. However, there are 5 couples coming in before us that day, 2 who have already paid a deposit, just haven't agreed on a date and those two just happen to want november Smiley sad

If we have to, my birthday wouldn't be too bad. I'm not much a a birthday person anyways.

When we were looking at venues, one of the open days was right around DH's birthday in May. We decided not to do that since we wanted some separation between our birthdays and anniversary.

Before I would have said absolutely not but when FH promised a trip every year to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary, I couldn't say no. I'm getting married the day after my birthday. Last year we celebrated my birthday and our engagement in Jamaica. Makes for an awesome celebration.
