It's one thing to just state an opinion, but another to talk about how a bride is wasteful because she doesn't donate her wedding dress. And you'd never give a gift to anyone who does TTD? What does your gift celebrating their marriage have to do with TTD? Everyone is here to discuss things. But it's not ok to refer to your peers as "kids"... when we are all on the same level here. No one's superior.
Hahahahaha! I go to my midwife appointment only to come back to this... Everyone back the eff up. I'm hoping I can light one mother of an extra absorbent tampon here...
It does seem like Nana Kathy is stirring the pot a little but, she seems to do very idiotic and selective reading and has a closed mind on this concept and does judge those that practice it. Yes, Kathy you are passing judgement on the concept *and* the bride as it is transparent in your first post. That's fine. She's free to say what she wants - Crazy people have the right to their own opinion whether we agree with it or not. Fuck 'em. She does what she wants, we do what we want. She shouldn't however go on and tell us "the right thing to do" which is donating our dresses. Not everyone actually destroys their dress in a TTD shoot. That's English, right? I speakey the English. People understand what the sentence means, right?
On another note, I totally plan on doing a TTD shoot myself. Since I'm doing one wedding in the Philippines, I thought it'd be cool to do a shoot in a rice patty where it shows me planting rice plants. Maybe even ride on a water buffalo (they're so cute and muddy)!
How's that Kathy? And btw, I'm entitled (as is anyone else) to do whatever the fack *I* want with my dress because my good karma at the moment is working for Team in Training (triathlon team) and raising money to help cure blood cancers. I don't need to donate my wedding dress for that...
I really wish I had the pics from my first marriage TTD. I actually trashed it thought. It was done a year after I left my ex husband. Me in my dress riding 3-wheelers up dunes. Then we used it to fuel the bond fire. It was awesome.
Im so doing TTD this time. Probably 2. One at the NorCal Ren faire. Im not donating my dress either way. Matter of fact it is going to get shoved in the Renfaire bucket will all the other costume pieces and become part of my Ren waredrobe. I specifically chose natural fabrics for that reason. Then I can think of our wedding day every time I wear them.
Sorry that you don't understand. I don't speak much Japanese. I took German in High school. But the characters don't work with the forum. I honestly only know any Japanese from Manga... lol.
Hahaha! It's okay. My japanese isn't as good as it used to be since I worked for a japanese company out of college. Btw, I hear German is a pretty awesome language to learn because at times, you can make your own words/translation up. (Is that the right way of saying that?)
Yeah, German is prety cool you get to spit and yell even when you are saying I love you. JK. The teacher was so funny though he was from texas and I don't think the accent was quite right for any of his students.

@Danie- That's the most appropriate time for TTD!! I wonder if that's how the fad got started? Pissed off ex wives. lol It makes a lot more sense than new brides doing it, after all. I think we can all agree with that! Nonetheless, I still adore the pictures. I like the arsty fartsyness of them. With the exception of the creepy second picture that luckyones posted, where the bride looks like she drowned. That's a bit macabre for my own personal taste.
I cannot wait to do my TTD photos. I am trashing the very dress my loving mother bought for me with her hard earned money educating the youth of America, she is an elementary school principal. She too cannot wait until I have my TTD session. In honor of Kathy R. I may just have to make my final shot one stomping grapes at the local winery...
@MIYA- Working for/with TNT is an awesome way to be charitable! I did a half marathon with them in October 2007. What do you do for them?

Oh I so want to do a TTD session! I also want to sell my dress for the cash though. Have you guys seen the used dress sites?
Sorry, no donations here...I mean I'm accepting them, just not giving them. =)
Donating, trashing, selling, whatever, its just a dress. I'm not one to emotionally attach myself to stuff I guess. Plus, I doubt my kid would want to wear it. I've seen my mother's old clothes...and eck!
I love the TTD photo's but I don't think I could bring myself to completely trash my actually wedding dress even though i got an amazing deal on it, it has too much sentemental value. That being said, if it was too the point that it could be cleaned out or it was a wedding dress specifically for TTD I would definately do it!
So much drama tonight, ladies! Holy cow! I've read 2 forums tonight with catty remarks... That's so unusual for WW.
Anyway... I love your pictures, Analy. They're so artsy and you look gorgeous. You and your hubby look like you're having a great time.
I never dreamed I'd say this, but I just told FH that I plan to trash my dress. He just laughed and said "With that in mind, could we spend less than a grand on it?"
