Kids, I am not being "judgmental". I just do not understand anyone who destroys things. It is so wasteful.
Yes, it is your possession....it is still a waste. As I wrote, earlier, there are so many other brides out there who cannot afford a gown, and would love to have "yours" donated to an organization where they can purchase it at a reduced cost.
It's only wasteful if you didn't get good use out of it. Sounds like the ladies who TTD don't waste it.. becasue they even get another photoshoot with some great looking pictures....and it doesn't even have to destroy the dress as the name implies.
It's also a waste to throw food away, spend money on things you don't need (like jewelry, hair color, nails, makeup). Just because some girls (and I'd bet it's actually most) choose not to donate their dress, it doesn't mean they are wasteful. Also, donating your dress doesn't make you a saint.
First of all, I am a grown woman, not a "kid". Thanks.
Second, not understanding something does not give you the right to make judgements on it (and oh, yes you are judging us). I also do not feel that creating lasting memories and photos with my new husband is a waste, regardless of the circumstances surrounding their creation. And as we commented before, many of us plan on donating our gowns, even after TTD. Many of us plan to keep them forever, in our closets. Is that also a waste? I don't think so. Just because we don't donate to your "charity of choice" does not make us any less charitable.
Wow, are some of us a bit hormonal today?? I thought this was a discussion board?? It just seems like not everyone is entitled to their opinion here without being bashed. I really don't think this is why WW was created. So some people like the TTD idea, to each his own, right? I really didn't get the feeling like Kathy was trying to bash anyone, and did anyone ever think that there are more personal reasons why she promotes donating the dress to a good cause? Same for Analy's opinion on the matter, she personnaly has done the TTD and had alot of fun with it and I'm sure it has a lot of meaning to her. Just seems like some people are forgetting that this is a "discussion" board and ARE acting like KIDS. But that's just my opinion...
BTW the shank is a joke. It was a phrase used by us drama kids in school and I say it all the time still. So analy borrows one of my many (I have every color in the rainbow) shanks often (though I have her one! what happened to it?) NOT REALLY GOING TO SHANK ANYONE. JK LOTS OF LOVE.
