Which came first? Venue or Wedding Date?

The first two big decisions you need to make for your wedding are when and where! But which decision was more important to you?? Did you fall in love with a venue and take whatever date they had open? Or are you set on a specific date to tie the knot, and willing to find a venue that works? Which...

Which came first for you? Your wedding venue, or your wedding date?

Wedding date, definitely. We had too many obstacles in between and had to decide on a date before we could come close to deciding on a location or venue

We originally picked the date 10/10/20 because we loved it. Recently had problems with the venue and everything along with it so we had to change the date and venue to 10/31/20!

We started touring venues in August of 2018 and thought we had a date picked out but after seeing that prices went up from May to June we decided to go with what is the 5 monthaversary of when we started dating. We luckily were early enough (1 year and 9 months) to get whatever date we wanted (especially since it will be on a Thursday).

We had a preference for wedding date, but were still tentative about it until we locked in the venue. The first venue I wanted was completely booked for all of October and we felt that going September or November would miss the colors, so we chose another venue that had the exact date I wanted available, and after choosing it, it makes more sense, and I think it's more cost effective as well. The first choice was out of town and would've been harder for some of my favorite people to make.

Our date definitely came first. It is the anniversary of the first day we met! We knew two months after we started dating that we were going to be together forever. We started saying "July 25, 2020" way back in October 2018. It became an inside joke because we would say it all the time. When we got engaged, we knew it had to be that date.

Date came first! We knew we waned to have our reception on Halloween, especially since in 2020 it's on a Saturday. However, we also knew that we wanted our legal court wedding to be on September 21st, since that is our anniversary date.

Venue- they were super duper booked, and mostly out of our budget. We basically picked the one day this year that wasn't crazy weather season that was available at the one place that was realistic for us, and our budget

The venue came first to set your date for their availability.
