    At first it was the date we wanted but we decided to push it up drastically so then it was based off availability/what we wanted based off all her available dates for the summer.

    Both! We started almost 14 months out so the venues still had dates open. Plus we were open to a Friday or Saturday night.

    Date came first. We wanted time to be together and be able to plan everything before choosing the venue, but we also knew what season we wanted it to be.

    We weren't dead set on date, we just knew we wanted spring. After we found the venue we wanted, we asked what she recommended for spring for all the flowers to be bloomed as we wanted an outdoor wedding. So, our venue came first and then we booked our date! Smiley smile

    Our wedding date meant a lot to us, so we chose a venue based on what we wanted 🤗 and I am glad it worked out.

    We had a date in mind already. It was just selecting the right place for us. We already knew we wanted to get married in the Dominican Republic and we were already in talks with a wedding specialist which helped narrow down the options.


    We knew we wanted to get married on the beach and have a great private space for the reception (that was not a hall). The location they showed us came by surprise and we fell in love with it immediately.

    I had both in mind at the same time, so I'm glad that the venue had our desired date available! But if I had to pick I would choose venue over date.

    Venue availability. We both choose 3 different months with September being the only one that matched one another. My hometown has the better venue (in my opinion) so we went based off of that as well.
