Where to go for honeymoon?!

Stephanie, on February 3, 2010 at 10:44 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 21

So we're trying to figure out the best place to go on our honeymoon without leaving the states. We were thinking about possibly even renting a REALLY nice cabin somewhere because we really want to be able to be away from everything for a little while. I would love if there was a beach type place like this, but everything I've seen on the beach is not secluded like we would like.

Does anyone know of some really upscale cabin rentals (anywhere in the states) or of some really nice secluded beach resorts within the states?

Thanks!

    Galena, Illinois

Saw this place suggested by a bride on another site. She absolutely loved it.

CO has some beautiful cabins in the Rockies. Late august is also really nice here because it's not too hot and there are some nice cabins with private decks with hot tubs and jetted tubs. I'd say Idaho springs, boulder canyon or estes park.

I think we are going to the Caesars Poconos Resort in Pennsylvania. They have an all inclusive package ranging from $240 to $540 a night.

Also I have heard from another bride on here about the Hot Springs in North Carolina. They have cabins that are pretty secluded and a weeks stay honeymoon package only runs about $600!

We are taking a cruise to the Bahamas.. Carnival Conquest.. we love cruising and it is a set price.

Plus you can pay on it all year.. you just have to have it paid up 60 days before you sail..

My mom and her bf go to the Smoky Mountains a lot. No beach, but it's gorgeous and secluded.

Why don't you rent a beach house in SC - that way you are on the beach, but you have the house to yourselves...

Try the Florida keys... I saw an amazing resort (don't remember what it was called) in a magazine... it looked like mexico or figi with the individual huts and stuff! and way cheaper than actually going to figi! Also, I'm gunna second the Rockies, cuz i live in Denver, Breckenridge is beautiful and really fun in the summer. The Alpine Slide there is fun, but I also enjoy biking the easy trails.

Bodega Bay, California. You can rent million dollar homes on the golf course, with the beach 1/4 mile away. It's absolutely stunning, and totally secluded. Napa valley is also 30mins or less away. They even have beach horseback riding. Smiley smile

We're staying at Grayton State Park near Destin, Florida. It's on a lake and the beach! It's a cabin in a wooded area...and then just a short walk over the board walk to the beach. I'm so excited because I love camping type areas and I love beaches. and this is both!

I am looking for accommodations for guests at a wedding in Washington state. This is one of my favorite cabins and it has a dock right on the water. Great mountain views too.

We're going to the Florida Keys. We're going to fly into Ft. Lauderdale, get a car and just drive down.

If you're in the Midwest, try South Haven, Michigan, Yelton Manor B&B. I stayed there a couple of years ago with my BF and had a BLAST! You can walk to the beach, and Lake Michigan is beautiful in August!

Well we are going to the eastern carribean, which is said to be the bahamas. I saw the movie "Couples Retrea"t and I love the whole island scene, so I am trying to find that because it may be cheaper than our cruise. Its called the Eden Resort and I think that it is located in panama somewhere, so I am not sure where I want to go either.
