Wow you guys arent married yet? 3. Just make sure theres a Mickeys D near the venue so we can eat...

People tend to say some of the most inconsiderate things,I thought I share whats been said to me and see if im the only one lol

1. OMG you have to stop crying(to me @ my surprise engagement party)

2. Wow you guys arent married yet?

3. Just make sure theres a Mickeys D near the venue so we can eat afterwards. ( we have a cocktail hour, 3 displayed hordouvers, 3 passed, a salad, 2 meats, pasta and 2side dishes)

4. I hope the food is good or im not coming! (someone whose not invited anyway)

5. I sure hope theres an open bar! (of course)

6. What we don't get to pick our own dresses? (BM)

7. I'll be waiting on my invite, oh yea and Ill be bringing my bf and my aunt (someone we didnt plan to invite to beginning with)

8. What your date again so i can steer clear of it (bride who then steals my date)

9. Hey not sure if we can make it, have "something" to do (FH aunt after getting STD 1 yr ahead)

10. Me: Hey can you send me your address. Them: does this mean you actually set a date?

I think I got all of these! haha! None of them bothered me too much, except when they came from my mom. I take it as a compliment when people think I'm 18 and can't believe I'm married. When people asked about prices, sometimes I told them, and sometimes I'd just say something sarcastic or "too much!". When people asked if they're invited, or if they could bring their 4 friends, I told them we had limited space.

@Marie- people are so brazen! I definitely would have looked very proud while letting them know that they're right, I do, in fact, give great bj's hahaha Smiley smile

@Marie, I was so hoping you owned up to being absolutely fabulous "to get that ring." Because that's what I would have done. "Why yes, I am/do. Hand jobs, too." Smiley winking Ahahahaha

I've never understood the assuming you're invited bit. I certainly never have.

I've gotten a few rude comments since my engagement and unfortunately from close friends and family which really hurt such as:

    1. Why did he tell you when he might propose? If my boyfriend did that I would be so upset - it should be a surprise..you should be crying (and this was my best friend who I thought would've been jumping for joy for me)

    2. One of you need to push back your wedding - said by my mom because my sisters wedding is a month before mine but after I told her off she backed off

    3. Why do you have to get married in 2013? - by my sister....like seriously you do not own the year!

    4. Don't you think this would put too much pressure on daddy? - by my sister....and I didn't think about that because I'm not depending on my daddy to pay for this wedding

    That was about it......

    I've gotten #2 and #4.

The worst one was from my mom. While dress shopping for her, she looked at another wedding dress and said, "You should get this one. It's so much prettier than yours."

I nearly launched myself at her - airborne style.

Rude comments are the reason we keep cutting the guest list!

    1. I'm coming even if I don't get an invite! (Person I haven't seen in years)

    2. Are you getting a bigger ring? I figured you would have gotten something flashy.

    3. Why are yall doing invite only, yall aren't celebrities.

&&& the most common: "Just go to the courthouse & save your money.

I think it's amazing how many of these come from people who're actually close to the bride and/or couple.

@Rachel S. Wow I am so sorry your mom said that. What was she thinking?

My mom said to me (when we went to have dress fitted in bridal shop) Your dress KILLS all of these! God love her. My dress was only $125. lol

I bet your dress is super super gorgy and everyone will be awed!

Oh I missed one, and this one kinda really hurt cause I have body issues as is, but some chick in this little bridal store, saw me looking at this dress and I really liked it, well she was like "she is to big in the belly to wear that dress, she would look pregnant." I was thinking to myself I think i'm gonna mess with her, I turned around and was like I am pregnant. She just froze like she couldn't believe I heard her.

WTH is everyone's obsession with saying to to the courthouse. If we wanted to go to the courthouse would we plan a damn wedding??

I am a younger bride. I was 22 when I got engaged, just turned 24 when we married. I also hated the comments about how old I am.

People made the comments to us about the long engagements. Well actually we were only engaged for a year, but we have been together for 8 and living together for 6 so A LOT of people said "FINALLY" to us.

Now that we are married, I hate these two questions:

    1. How does it feel to be married....honestly nothing changed for us. Only my last name, because we have known each other for awhile and lived together for over 6 years, we already shared everything. It feels the same!

    2. When are you having kids? I just turned 24, DH is 25, and we aren't ready yet. Not financially and just not ready period. When the time is right, it will happen. I enjoy sleeping in on my days off thank you very much.

I had a coworker ask how my husband and i could afford to go on a 7 day cruise not long before our wedding. I guess she thinks since i'm a receptionist i cant afford to go nice places. One thing about my spouse and I we live below our means so that we are able to take trips and do whatever we want when we want.

Mrs. Sims really? Why is she worry about what you can afford? Does she want to contribute, and its not about what you make its about how much you save and prepare for! Im even more annoyed by the posts for you all. I CANT BELIEVE PEOPLE, I say we be just as rude as they are to us.

She goes well I cant even afford to go to those places. I said well that's not my problem. She almost hit the floor when she asked where our wedding was going to be and i told her St. Thomas. Needless to say she gives me this evil look everytime she sees me now. I try not to worry about people's ignorant comments but sometimes you just want to slap the shit out of them.

Yesterday some lame dude was attempting to hit on me, and asked me for my number. I told him I was married, and gestured to the ring on my hand. He says "welll if you were my girl I would've gotten you a bigger ring than that". ?!?! Who says that?!

I also have a non-diamond e-ring (natural opal, my birthstone), and on top of that it's an unusual setting, at least for around here (sterling silver Claddagh). It's exactly what I always pictured for my e-ring. I've had a lot of odd looks from people when I show it to them, like one girl at the bridal shop, but only one comment in regards to not having a diamond. Lucky me, the ring came with a built-in response. We had it special ordered (the opal was a custom request) from Ireland and it was hallmarked at Dublin Castle. So Smiley tongue.

So far one of the rudest things I have gotten from people are "so, you CAN have kids, right?" from one of FH's friends. I kind of understand because his ex-wife trapped him in the relationship before telling him she couldn't have any more and he's always wanted one of his own. The other was that friend's GF trying to sell me the wedding dress and tiara she bought a while back within 10 minutes of finding out! She kept pushing even after I said no thanks!

Clare, I think my coworker was worst, after making many advances towards me which I turned down he then says, your not getting married anyway who would want to marry u. I almost lost my job that day. He tells me allll the time how beautiful I am how i should give him a chance blah blah blah so clearly he tired to disrespect me to feel better about not having me. He also gave my ring the screw face, a ring that even strangers(men and women) have stopped me in stores and restaurants and complimented!

Omg Chelle that's intense! I feel your pain, you would think when you tell a guy you're engaged or married they would back off. But for some reason they see it as more of a challenge! Lately my response has been "The proper thing to say is Congratulations, asshole."
