People tend to say some of the most inconsiderate things,I thought I share whats been said to me and see if im the only one lol 1. OMG you have to stop crying(to me @ my surprise engagement party) 2. 1. OMG you have to stop crying(to me @ my surprise engagement party)

2. Wow you guys arent married yet?

3. Just make sure theres a Mickeys D near the venue so we can eat afterwards. ( we have a cocktail hour, 3 displayed hordouvers, 3 passed, a salad, 2 meats, pasta and 2side dishes)

4. I hope the food is good or im not coming! (someone whose not invited anyway)

5. I sure hope theres an open bar! (of course)

6. What we don't get to pick our own dresses? (BM)

7. I'll be waiting on my invite, oh yea and Ill be bringing my bf and my aunt (someone we didnt plan to invite to beginning with)

8. What your date again so i can steer clear of it (bride who then steals my date)

9. Hey not sure if we can make it, have "something" to do (FH aunt after getting STD 1 yr ahead)

10. Me: Hey can you send me your address. Them: does this mean you actually set a date?

Chelle, I totally understand! My cake topper I had handmade cost $230. I haven't told anyone about it just yet because I don't particularly want or care to hear the ominous "How much did that cost?" again. I should just start saying, "Since you are so interested in the prices for my wedding, I will send you your personal bill for your food, seating, etc." Haha That'd shut 'em up!

I got "Are you sure you want to go to the expense, why not go to the courthouse and just have a party?" by my MOH! I thought "well, didn't YOU get to have the ceremony & reception you wanted?" UHMM...Yea, you did I was there. But I was a good girl and held my tounge. It kind of stung a little.

    People can be so rude

FSIL- "that dress looks good, but would look so much better on me, what do you think?"

friend of the family when we told her we were engaged "oh so when are you due?"

my uncle is always going on about how i need to wait and blah blah i'm too young (23 now 24 at the time of the wedding) when i told him i was engaged his repsonse was "you call him back right now and tell him no, you need to wait and think this through"

My FH didn't propose with a ring ... I didn't receive it until a month after being engaged (which I didn't mind at all, engagement rings aren't important to me) I kept my engagment a secret from work as long as I could until it was leaked on facebook, the status was changed and word got around .....

My Boss: "You're engaged. huh. Where's your ring?"

Me: "Oh he didn't propose with a ri -- "

Boss: "HE DIDN'T PROPOSE WITH A RING?!!! WHAT THE HELL!? I would've been ABSOLUTELY embarassed if my boyfriend didnt propse with a RING! What is he thinking??! You tell that boy to get his as$ out there and get a ring - you should have NO say in what type of ring you get ...blah...blah...blah...blah"

she basically yelled at me for 10 minutes over something that was none of her business. I've received a lot of crappy comments... that one was by far the icing on the cake.

Yep Mandee, Exactly I need to do some serious praying some days i just feel like this is too much, people stress you out more than the actual planning.

Jen I had a situation like that with my MOH and I finally had to sit her down and confront her, we have been friends for awhile i didnt understand her negativity, when i did she was so embarrassed and didnt even realize how insenstive she had been but honestly admitted she was living vicariously through me, weve been good since then

^^ Kimi, my FH didn't get down on one knee. There was snow on the ground, I wasn't really interested in the kneeling tradition.

Some bishh that is marrying FH's old roommate/good friend literally curled her lip at us when she heard that. I responded, "Well I think we are equals in this relationship and should always look each other in the eye. Men who get on one knee look like a dog begging." Oh man, she HATED that.

I don't really feel that getting on one knee equates men to dogs, but I knew she would be pissed to hear it.

I get a lot of people asking if they're invited. I also have to be "careful" when planning my wedding so I dont "copy" anything my FSIL is doing for hers, 7 months after mine. Im sorry FIL's, this is my wedding, Im going to plan it the way I want. A wedding is a wedding. Sorry I have food and a DJ just like hers, but doesnt every body??? Another one is people saying they want to go with us on the honey moon. "im going to dump all your luggage out and stowaway in you suitcase!!" yeah, right. Theres a girl at work that especially bothers me because she used to live in hawaii, where we're going, and says i should find myself a hot military guy out there and leave FH. yeah, great idea for a honeymoon. MORON.

My FHs old friends, who we didnt invite to the wedding have said to me.

" well we will just come after the dinner and drink your open bar"

My FH didnt want them invited, because he hasnt seen or spoke to them until recently.

Is it just me or do people trynto be closer and more friendlier when you are planning a big event and they are worried that they wont be invited.?

It's been almost 3 years since we have seen this person, and he just assumes he should be a GM.

Hmm...pretty much no one has even asked me about my wedding or commented on it unless I bring it up. So I think that is pretty rude i itself. Aside from our initial engagement announcement and the congrats I got from that (several months ago) no one asks about it at all.

My mother informed me that because my ring is not a real diamond (it's CZ but most people can't tell..in fact, I've had people in a store comment on how pretty it is), it's not special. First of all, my ring is *amazing* to *me*; ya know, the person who has to wear it for the rest of her life. So that really hurt my feelings and I thought it was completely rude.

@Chelle - Oh my goodness. I guess we'll have to take you?? I probably would not have been able to hold back some response like, Well nobody says you have to come.

If my FMIL keeps making the comments she does and treating FH like she does, she may just get seated in the back.

Oh, Kristin, that is just awful. Every engagement ring is special. Whether it's platinum with a diamond that will sink ya to the bottom of the ocean in .3 seconds or if it's a grass woven band. It's all about the meaning behind it. I wish people would remember that. But we live in such a commercialized gimme gimme society, that it's all about the biggest, best, and one-uppance.

Chelle - I've been wondering this since the day I announced the engagement. Long lost friends and family started adding me to fb all of a sudden and asking questions. some were offended when invites were sent and they didnt get one.

This one girl.. said to me..

"well we were best friends for 10 years, i think I should be your bm or atleast invited."

my response to that was. "we WERE best friends, its a small initmate wedding with family and close friends only." I left it at that and then im pretty sure she de friended me on fb. lol.
