What was your first wedding planning decision?

Officent. He was worried because we wanted a secular wedding. We would have a hard time finding one.

Ours was the date and where we wanted to go on the honeymoon lol

Venue. We booked it within I think 4 days of being engaged. It happens to be right across the street from where we live. Easy choice.

My Dress..lol. Hands down l felt obsessed with getting my dress 1st.

To commit to having a destination wedding.

The date. We are crazy busy and have three school aged daughters (50/50 custody with our respective exes) whose schedules we needed to consider also. So we wanted to get our date picked right off. Opted for a nice long engagement which we are happy about.

Date then venue. We knew it was going to be elsewhere - just needed to figure out when!

Mine was a combination of a bunch of things! My head was spinning! I sort of figured in my head the month and theme then I told him and he liked it. Then it was a matter of who was paying for the wedding and how... then venue while thinking of number of guests

Would deciding to get married be the first decision? We were in a friend’s wedding that was not a good (I.e. as a bridesmaid I didn’t get fed except donuts even though they promised me that there would be food I liked. It was an outdoor wedding in May at 1 pm.).

After that we decided on venue and budget simultaneous.

For me it was venue - a relatively inexpensive one in the realm of venues. So I built our budget (with FH's input of course) around the venue because it's a dream venue for me

We already knew a couple things prior to engagement, like that we wanted donuts and what our first song would be. Our first decision after the ring was the venue!

The venue!! We have the MOST perfect place to say our “I do’s” and celebrate! It was a no brainer for us!

I knew the dress I wanted.

First decision was figuring out what state to have the wedding in 😂. We live in Texas, his family lives in Texas, my family lives in Michigan and California. Decided on California for the awesome weather and easy planning with my parents nearby.

Our photographer! I had my eyes on ours ever since they started. Showed to my FH and he's like "YAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSS!" everything else just doesn't matter as much

Venue! I already had one picked out and we scheduled the tour the week after we got engaged because they only had one weekend left for the time frame we wanted!
