We have to have the food catered from the venue, as they do not allow any outside food. Their plated meals begin at $130pp and their buffet meals begin at $140pp. Hors d'oeuvres are $7 per piece. I am trying to be creative and make my own menu to provide to the chef and see what pricing he will come back with. So far that has been the cheaper route.

We passed on butlered hors d'oeuvres and instead did grilled vegetable, cheeses, bruschetta, fruit and pasta stations. Dinner is butternut squash risotto (same price as a salad so we upgraded haha), entree is duet of filet & crab cake, and choice of dessert - chocolate hazelnut mousse or bananas foster. We also added a chicken/beef slider station later in the night. Food was our #1 so we moved around the budget to do so. The tasting was crucial for us, to see where the catering really shined instead of just the types of foods we liked. ETA: we are at 178pp, but includes the venue, full staff, premium open bar all night, coordinator.

We are doing buffet style of lasagna and Alfredo! Includes a salad, minestrone soup, garlic bread and soft drinks. $21.62 a person. Not ideal but required through our venue and fit in our budget. Smiley smile

Also the hors d'oeuvres price seems high. If we did them it ranged 2.75-4.75 per piece per person.

We are doing 2 featured stations -

Taco bar (chicken and steak options), corn and bean salad, empanadas.

Mashed potato bar, meatloaf and bbq chicken sliders.

We also have passed apps - chicken park bites, butternut squash soup shooters, Caesar salad on edible spoons, pork dumplings with hoisin dipping sauce and mini quiches.

We also have a dessert table with French and Italian pick up pastries. (Cake we got separately).

Total per head for 105 people is $44.50.

We haven't officially decided on the entrees yet, but the plated dinners are $88 for chicken and $118 for beef. Then it's $29/pp for open bar, but all passed and stationary hors d'oeuvres are included in that cost. That, plus taxes, fees, venue rental x 150 comes to about $28k for everything. I can't even believe that there are places that cost less than $50/pp...I wish!!!

We haven't really solidified our menu other than the main dish (roast beef and broasted chicken) but our plates are so inexpensive and their food is amazing. For two main dishes it's $7.50pp for the whole buffet.
