Robin

Rick and I started out as friends way back in 2012. We met at a Divorce Care group at our church. We supported each other as we maneuvered through our painful divorces, spending countless hours as each others therapist. Sometime in late 2012, we were eating at Zaxby's and complaining about the dating pool available to us. We decided that if we had not met someone special in 5 years, we would marry each other. We even did a "pinky swear" on our deal. In the summer of 2013, we started dating. This was the same time frame that I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I tried to convince Rick to run away and not take this challenge on, but he looked me in the eye and said he was not a man who ran away. To this day I will never forget the look in his eyes or the way he said those words. He has stood beside me through 5 surgeries and countless doctor visits. We have shared laughter and joy with the birth of our grands, Eliana and Sydney. Those little girls have reminded us of the pure innocence and trust children put in you. Known as Pop and Babushka, we are blessed to be a part of their lives. Every day with each other is special. He is the voice of reason to my craziness. I am the calming influence to his stress. We compliment each other as we walk through this crazy world. We look forward to starting our lives together in November 2017 as man and wife. Who knew that the pinky swear would pay off?
