We have to have the food catered from the venue, as they do not allow any outside food. Their plated meals begin at $130pp and their buffet meals begin at $140pp. Hors d'oeuvres are $7 per piece. I am trying to be creative and make my own menu to provide to the chef and see what pricing he will come back with. So far that has been the cheaper route.

(We hope to be adding a limited number of vegetarian entrees in addition to the two meat options.)

Immediately following the ceremony there will be a fruit, cheese, and cracker table to nibble on while the wedding party finishes taking photos outside.

Dinner begins with a mixed green salad with choice of ranch, honey mustard, or balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Served with dinner rolls.

Entrees will be a choice of:

-Slow-roasted, thinly sliced beef with au jus and horseradish cream

-Southern-fried buttermilk-marinated chicken with bourbon gravy, warmed honey glaze and topped with smoked bacon

    Sides include:

    -Herb crusted roasted potatoes

-Wild mushroom risotto cakes with tomato puree

    Drinks:

There will be non-alcoholic beverages at the bar including iced tea, Coca-Cola products, and coffee.

The bar will also have unlimited beer and wine for your enjoyment, plus two signature cocktails.

Beer options: Bud Light, Yuengling, or Blue Moon

Wine options: Moscato, Cabernet, or Chardonnay

The pp price doesn't include the alcohol. It works on a sliding scale (we originally contracted for 75 guests but if we end up with over 100 it's slightly less per plate). So basically our dinner cost is between $35-55 per person depending on how many people we have. But it's in the suburbs so not a super expensive area.

    Tacos!!! Asada or Pastor.

    Vegetarians? SOL.

Keeping it casual because we and our guest would just feel super out of place at some fancy ordeal.

    Tacos up in here!

Our pp minimum for lunch is $125pp. Within that however, the options are extremely reasonable. Our plans are currently to have potato leek soup, a turkey carving station, a beef carving station, a mashed potato bar, and we are ironing out the rest.

It also includes cake, the bar package, and within that $125 pp, we will be offering our guests an optional in-park dessert party buffet to watch the Epcot fireworks, and possibly a morning after brunch. The dessert party will also offer an open bar.

So lots and lots of food for the price. Ours is at Disney World.

That is very expensive. Our venue charges $69 per person; it includes appetizers (7 different kinds), 3 course meal, unlimited soda, tea, water, beer and wine, plus our wedding cake. We are having a Sunday wedding, not during the busy wedding season to save us some money!

We're taking everyone to one of our favorite italian restaurants where they will have free run of the menu.

Misc apps - estimating $150 for the table

Entrees (primi/secondi) range from $11-$22. plus more for extra sides

Estimating 5 rounds of drinks ranging from $6 beers to $15 cocktails

    and another $150 for desserts

We're also getting 2 bottles of prosecco to toast at dessert.

Doing the math, we're paying $100 per person. But it was important that everyone get whatever they want. The restaurant offers a limited menu and bar but that didn't seem like it had enough options. It helps that I only have 13 guests. And we're totally hitting a bar afterwards..

    ETA:

    @LynZ charge your phone!

@ajpeacockk I believe you were having over $100 guests for 1k taquero, right?

Ours was $22 per person for buffet meal of Parmesan chicken, green beans, bread, caeser salad, and mashed potatoes.

We also had cake that cost $300 total ($2 per person)

And we did consumption bar that ended up being about $2500

So about $40 pp for food and drink

We're having a buffet dinner and the price is $17/pp. We're having a fruit and cheese selection, sweet and sour meatballs, and vegetables for our appetizers. Dinner is gluten free vegetarian lasagna, Italian marinated chicken breasts, garlic asparagus, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese. Our caterer also includes raspberry lemonade, sweet and unsweet tea, and water in with our total. FH and I are providing the beer and wine.

I'm paying for my guests to all go to a Luau the night before the wedding. This would include a buffet, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and the show. Could I make the reception menu the next evening a little lighter (like maybe one type of meat instead of two) because of this? Or would that not be a good host?

ETA: What should I add to the following menu? They provided a good price for the following:

    Herb crusted prime rib

    Natural Pan Jus, Horseradish Cream

    La Brea Rolls

    Steamed Jumbo Asparagus

    Roasted Baby Potatoes

    Green salad

@a&w Brunch Menu is such a great idea! Sounds amazing. I heart breakfast foods.

130+ a person seems insane but you're right, everything for a DW is more expensive.

In Birmingham, AL I am paying 23 a person for heavy hors d'oeuvres.

    Shrimp and grits station

Fruit and cheese display with baked brie

    Grilled vegetables

    Smoked brisket on rolls

Bourbon glazed pork tenderloin on rolls

Bang bang chicken with Asian slaw

Hot Swiss cheese and bacon dip

@ajpeacockk I hope you are kidding.

My venue/catering price is about $85/pp and includes a top shelf open bar as well as the following:

4 passed apps (TBD) a crudite and cheese and cracker display for cocktail hour

    Plated salad (TDB the type)

2 carving stations (likely pork and steak)

2 entrees served buffet style (fish and pasta, probably)

    2 veggies served buffet style

    mashed potato bar

Wedding cake, ice cream sundae bar, coffee bar

The venue will also make specialty dishes for vegetarians/GF/vegans if necessary, so my friends who have dietary restrictions will not be SOL at my wedding.

@Maui, what about vegetarians and/or people who don't eat red meat? I love red meat so I'd be good with that.

@GymRat if I just hand you $85 can you make me a plate? This is making me soooo hungry!
