Weird question... when did you book your limo?

Patricia , on September 6, 2011 at 4:47 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

A friend at work just asked me if I'd book my limos already, I told her not yet, that's not at the top of my list, she told me I better get on it 'cause when her sister was getting married, 7 months out the limo company they wanted to use was booked... say what???? I'm having a hard time believing this, lol

When did you guys book yours?

I'm booking mine here soon and my wedding isn't for another 6 months or so. Reason? I'm getting married in Key West and they really don't have many transportaton options so they book fast. (I'm sold on having a 1950s rolls for me and FH & a strech limo for the family)

We booked ours at the end of May, so about 4 months out, but we could have waited, we just wanted to get it taken care of. It probably depends on where you live and how many limo companies are available, as well as how popular of a day you are getting married on. For instance, I could see running into problems if your wedding is the same day as the local prom, or something to that effect.

You right dragonfly, I never even thought of that, it must've been the reason, I don't know when her sister's wedding was.

Mine's on the 11th of december and I'm in south florida, we have plenty of limo companies around. I'm definitely not going to stress over it now.

Also Blanca, you right on that one, forgot about gas prices etc... good call on that.

    Thanks ladies

I am getting married this weekend and we didn't call and book ours until two weeks ago. It wasn't at the top of our list either.

I'm in a similar situation! I never dreamed transportation could be booked as far as 8 months in advance but I really wanted a certain trolley company and they are completely unavailable for our date. Now I'm not even interested in finding transportation since at this point I'll just take anything that's available.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like as more and more people choose longer engagements, the more likely it is that things get booked in advance. I've already found that two hair stylists I've been referred to are booked as well! What gives?! I guess the moral of the story is get on it! Smiley smile

I think it depends on how many companies in your area offer the service. A vendor at a bridal show told me many couple neglect transportatioln and at the last minute expect more options. But in some locations there are so many companies available that days before works just fine.

Personally I'm trying to avaoid a limo the day of.
