    For me its a must, i always wanted a wedding cake at my wedding so there was no other option in my book

    With today's modern desserts this is a nice to have. It really depends on what the couple wants. You can also just have cake for the couple and do a different dessert for your guests

    Need to have for us, especially with the top layer for us to save for our 1st Anniversary. Because our reception venue includes both our wedding cake and dessert plates per table, we have elected to do the traditional cake cutting and then the cake will be cut and boxed for our guests to take home with them.

    NEED TO HAVE! I can’t imagine having a wedding without a beautiful cake. The tradition is lovely but i also just really love cake so there’s that.

    Nice to have. I do love a good cake and look forward to it at weddings, but now-a-days I feel like its a preference. I also have a strong love for cupcakes and am asking my baker what that option will cost as my FH does not do cake unless there is ice cream present (there won't be).

    Our venue is providing deserts for a deal they were offering when we booked, and we're getting a smaller cake. The only reason it's muli-layered is for the tradition of saving the top layer!

    We are having a small 'cut cake' and then having different desserts for everyone (like cookies, cheesecake, pudding)

    I dont think it would feel like a wedding without the cake. Its a decoration peice as well as a tradition to cut the cake together as husband and wife and then feed each other some or smash whichever the preference lol

    Need to have something sweet. If it's not a cake, then it is cupcakes, candy, donuts, something. LOL! Plus a cake is great for photo ops.
