Today, nearly 80% of couples consider reviews very important in deciding whether or not to hire a vendor. Did you find your wedding vendors through traditional word of mouth recommendations, or did you do your own searches online?

Modern: all through online searches, wedding forums and wedding planning groups on facebook.

Modern! There are so many options (especially where I live) that it would be foolish of me to choose the one person who someone recommended for me. That vendor may have been perfect for my friend’s event, but every wedding or event requires a different set of unique needs. I’d rather shop around and look at reviews online before making a decision.

Modern, we have pretty much found the majority of our vendors online and reviews played an important part of us even considering meeting with a potential vendor.

Sort of both, I suppose. FH and I both knew the type of venue we wanted, and I did a little research prior to making any appointments, but we ultimately ended up checking out the venue we chose purely based off of the recommendation of a colleague who'd attended a "beautiful wedding" (her words) there. From there, we used the venue's recommendations to hire the rest of our vendor team.

For me it's a bit of both. I've searched online a lot, but the venue we want we've known about for over 35 years. It's where we met! I would say it's been more online though

Modern. The only vendor we found by worth of mouth was our venue. Every other vendor came from reviews online or going to a bridal fair.

I did my own research and found everything online minus my photographer who had done my friends wedding and was my HS Chemistry teacher.

I think a mix of both... some of my vendors I found online and others by word of mouth. Some of them I even knew from years ago and hired them for this very special occasion. Reviews and online search was definitely an important part of my vendor hiring process.

A combo. A couple are people we've known for a long time, some from recommendations and others we needed to search for specifically.

Modern! We did our own searching online, reading a whole lot of reviews! The only vendor who I knew of by word of mouth before we started our searches was our officiant, but I still read his online reviews and information thoroughly!
