Vendor Recommendations: Modern or Traditional?

Both! I did A LOT of searching to find the perfect place for the reception, photographer, food services, but we are getting married in my home church, so I guess we found that one without the internet!

Modern. I did all my own search.

Mostly online, but we did book our bakery vendor based on a friend's recommendation and we booked our photographer after meeting them at a wedding show. But we looked at reviews before booking anyone, regardless of how we learned about them.

Most of the vendors were found online. A few were by word of mouth.

Modern - we used the internet for every single one of our vendors except the HMUA & photographer (they are friends of ours).

I searched WW for all my venues, did research & looked at reviews. The venue we choice is a place I've been to several of my kids sport banquets at and loved it. The other local venues I looked on WW, word of mouth, & yellowpages for our city, some were open on our day some were not. Still researched the online.

I honestly don't think any of my vendors were found through researching online. I found a few through social media through mutual friends. The two venues were word of mouth through coworkers. I found the caterer from doing their tax return. I'm friends with my hair stylist (also a bridesmaid), her cousin does makeup, and her husband does videographer. My cousin is friends with our photographer. Our cake baker/decorator I know from working with her at Sam's Club as a cake decorator. So, I guess I'd say more traditional.

Modern: I had started a Wedding Wire profile and started comparing prices of vendors in September 2018, we got engaged December 23rd.

We did hire our florist at the recommendation of our even coordinator at the venue.

I did a combination of both! WeddingWire helped me to compare prices/reviews & I searched online for some of my vendors. My family & friends had good recommendations as well.

Modern! All the venues we researched and toured were from online searches! Our venue we chose, no one ever knows where it is because we found it from online searching!

We chose a city/town that meant something to us and we researched venues in that area to help make our wedding nostalgic for us. The vendors came second to the area for us. It was all about location when it came to the vendor choices.

Modern! We found all of our vendors online.

I found all my vendors through WW or Facebook except for our venue. Two of my co-workers recommended the venue.

Modern! We found most venders via Instagram and WeddingWire, did tours via FaceTime for all our vendors since we don’t live in the same state were getting married in

Modern, I found all my vendors myself through online searches.

It was a good mix.

Ceremony & Reception (comes with caterer): I put a post out on Facebook asking for recommendations and among the recommendations where the two venues we decided.

Photographer: I know her personally so I suppose you could say word of mouth

Officiant: I know him personally as well

DJ: did my own research online, looked at reviews and videos online

Florist: word of mouth via a co worker who is planning her own wedding

Modern for the most part, although our photographer is someone my FH went to high school with ( this is her business though).

Modern. The only vendor we found traditionally was our photographer, but she’s been our family photographer for the last 5 years.

Modern. Photos and reviews have been a lifesaver for me in this planning process!

Only our photographer was by word of mouth. Everyone else we have found online
