I say go for it! My date is 9/3/22 and I have purchased my dress and booked the venue as well as all vendors. I feel very relaxed knowing the big stuff is out of the way! We will be booking an engagement shoot soon to send out save the dates, but not sure when we will send them out.
I am getting married 9/17/22 and just bought my dress! Wasn’t expecting to find one this early but wanted to definitely get ordered within next 3 months. I work in wholesale bridal and there is such a delay in workers and shopping delays some places the estimated time to get a dress is 6 months and I didn’t was to take a chance and stress about it not getting here in time. Especially considering alteration time.
I sent save the dates and ordered my wedding dress. With Covid everything is taking soo long. They told me it could take up to 15 months to make dress then when it comes in you gotta get it altered. September 16, 2022 is our wedding date.
It's definitely not too early. I started doing all the HEAVY planning and important stuff in early 2018, my wedding is this October. Now that I'm 99 days away and literally 90% of the real work is done, I can relax and enjoy the process and be excited about it instead of stressing, panicking, and doing everything last minute (to me, anything within 6 months of the wedding is "Last Minute" LOL)
I'm getting married on 09/10/22, and I've been planning since roughly November 2020. I found that due to a lot of rescheduled weddings, things were booking up way quicker than they normally would. So just like the pandemic changes most things, planning a wedding has to be done so much further in advance now. A lot of vendors I reached out to we're booked up when I inquired in 2020, so now is the perfect time to get on it. I have my DJ, venue, caterer, photographer, videographer, rehearsal venue, bridal shower venue, makeup/hair crew, and officiant. I am currently searching for a florist but know I need to pick one soon because of how many weddings were rescheduled to 2022! As for the wedding dress, you can definitely start looking for that too! I have my first appointment at a shop, the end of this month. And I'm hoping to find the dress by September so there's time to get it altered and such. As for save the dates, I have family flying in from France and my fiancé's family all lives roughly 2 hours away so I will be sending mine out approximately 9-10 months before the wedding. So definitely don't feel like you need to wait, you can get started now I recommend it!
Hey! My wedding is booked for 9/17/22! We've already started planning and have about half of our vendors booked. I enjoy planning so it’s way better for us that we started early lol If anything I do recommend booking your major vendors first - cater, florals etc. It’s never to late to start and honestly by next year you’ll have nothing to worry about : ) I have my last rounds of wedding dress shopping Aug 6th.
It's way too soon for invitations and probably for save the dates. I would hold off on the later until you're maybe 6-8 months out. However, there are plenty of things that you can and should do now. I would start with looking to book a venue. Those will fill up fast, especially now with things opening up everywhere, and I know they'll want the business. I'd start looking for places and reaching out to them for initial discussions. Once you get the venue booked, then I would start looking at other vendors, particularly DJs and photographers, as those will also book quickly.
It's also definitely not too soon to look for a dress! I bought my dress in March 2019, and I'm not getting married until October 2021 (although originally it was supposed to be April 2020). My friend who's one of my bridesmaids bought hers about a year and a half before her wedding.
I got engaged July 2020. We got the church and the venue first, then got DJ and photographer. I went dress shopping in November of 2020. October 9 2021 is the wedding. We booked everything early because we didn’t know what was going to happen with COVID and reschedules. It’s fun trying on dresses and planning, enjoy!
I'm starting the big things, myself. Vision boards for a dress, wedding party looks, decor, bouquets. I don't think it's too early to start planning, just take your time! (as I tell myself the same thing lol)
You can look for a dress but invitations I would wait because they will lose them or forget it.. I would booked everything that you want.. I play my last October and I’m getting married this October.. I had everything paid bye December of last year..
I think you can send save the dates but I would wait closer to the wedding to send the invitations. But as a person who procrastinated and waited until the last minute to do things this year I think it’s a great idea to start planning now. Get all your vendors, your dress, order invites, get favors and gifts, etc. There is SO much to do so start planning whenever you want! I wish I didn’t save so many things last minute.

Editing to say definitely wait on sending invites- I meant you can plan!
If you look through the tasks on here, it gives you a pretty good timeline of getting things done. When I first started I was the same way. But I don't think you can start looking for your dress too early
My wedding is 9/3/2022 and I got my dress July 2nd. I just found it and purchased it as I knew it was the one and I am staying away from looking at others.
My wedding is a destination wedding so I plan sending Save The Dates in September to give people a year to plan for it but I am not sending invites until later on.
