Hi everyone! I want to demote my MoH and move another girl up to it, I just don't know how to go about this. My MoH and I have grown apart, she's not a good person. Hi everyone! I want to demote my MoH and move another girl up to it, I just don't know how to go about this.

My MoH and I have grown apart, she's not a good person. She's rude to all my bridesmaids, she's rude to me and my fiance, she has not made any effort to plan anything towards my Bachelorette party or Bridal shower, she's been rude to vendors we've met with. She made a huge deal about the price of the bridesmaids dresses me and all the other girls liked ($190) when she makes double what the rest of us make. There's a ton of other things, those are just a few I could think of right now.

Any time I try mentioning one of the other girls in the wedding she gets jealous and passive aggressive. I'm over it and I don't want her to be my MoH any more, I'm just so anxious about it. I want so badly to just do it over text because I know she's going to blow up on me, but I know I should do it in person.

Anyone have any advice??

Was gonna post a separate topic about this- til I saw this one so I figured I'd add on!

Reading this story may help some people make an appropriate decision.

Also posted in paragraph form so people can skim.

Yeahhh next time don't simultaneously hijack someone else's thread and bump it when it's been dead for a week.

Yeah this isn't going to end well. There's no way anyone would be okay with just being demoted to a bridesmaid because of the reasons you posted....she's not going to be in your wedding if you don't want her to be the maid of honor.

If you want to save the friendship don't demote her, but just maybe don't expect much from her and when you want to chat wedding just talk to your FH about it or other bridesmaids and friends. Keep the wedidng talk with her to a minimum.

Maybe ask her if she honestly wants to be a part of the wedding, let her know you wouldn't be offended if this wasn't a good time for her to be involved, maybe she will step down on her own. If not, you just have to make the best of it if you want to remain friends.

I'm sorry but a MOH has "duties". And if I were someone's MOH I would expect to be in charge of the bridal shower, bachelorette party, and being there for every step of the way as long as I was needed, including meeting with vendors. This is your day, and any good friend understands that is accommodating to you. It isn't that youre treating your friends like slaves or employees. No they aren't obligated, but it's kind of a silent understanding that there are certain responsibilities that come with the title of MOH as well as BMs. My advice is, this is your wedding, your special day, and it happens once in your life, at least that's the intention. Do not compromise your day for anyone. If she's making this milestone less special for you, you have every right to ask her to step down. She will likely drop out completely but that's a chance that you may have to take. And if you think text is easiest, then do it that way. Planning a wedding is stressful enough, get rid of anything adding unnecessary stress. Before you do so, make sure that you take a few steps back and look at the whole picture. This whole process can make any woman crazy, so just be sure that you aren't overreacting and that this is what you truly want.

Tons of posts so i will just say that if you are truely done with the friendship send a text or email and avoid thr fake tears. it sucks and it closes the door on trying to work it out but it sounds like you are done with her all together and not just as a moh. i would do it quick like a bandaid. tell her after all the negativity she has brought you are done. you wish her the best but its over. just imo

Kayla, seriously? No sane, rational bride/groom would want to go to vendor meetings with their wedding party over their spouse to be. Yeah, under certain circumstances, like deployment (or any circumstance when they're physically unable to be there), but under normal circumstances nobody is going to be like, time to choose a caterer, better bring my moh to make the final decision with me.

I think everyone is reacting the way they are because of the things you're saying about this girl. We don't personally know her and she could very well be a bitch, but the things you're angry with her over are not things that should be expected of her. No one in your bridal party should be meeting with your vendors. If she's giving the vendors an attitude at all, she's probably looking for your best interest and doing what she thinks you expect. She probably doesn't want to spend $190 on the dress because she doesn't like it or doesn't feel it's worth that much. Just because someone has money doesn't mean they are comfortable wasting it and she has a right to have an opinion about what she spends her money on.

Now you are saying she's a terrible friend yet she was offering to pay for things for your wedding. An awful friend wouldn't do that. You seem to be very critical of this girl, and maybe she senses that you're not friendly with her anymore. The hatred for her is evident in your post. I mean you don't ask someone to be your MOH if they're disposable. I don't think you should make her go through your wedding and just end the friendship now. As bitchy as she may be, it's not fair to her to be put in the position she's in and having you talk about her the way you are.
