A palette, that's the word I was looking for! Thanks, JoRocka!

The Cake Dilemma thread is back ladies.
Also, Sass, all the other ladies have it covered for your cousin. It sounds like a good plan. I'm assuming Ulta is like Sephora (we don't have them up here).

Awesome ideas!! I'm getting all warm and fuzzy thinking about how much fun she's going to have (altruism is overrated).
Sass - So sweet! You've reminded me that it's my niece's 5th birthday the night of our RD and I had wanted to do a little something for her too. Adding to my "to do" list now...
Alyssa - Hell no. Our RD isn't even $25PP - I wish!

Sass that's so sweet of you! One last idea to throw in, can you have her mom look and see what some of her favorite products are that she already loves? Maybe get her a few of those too with something fun/different like the eye shadow palette!
AlyssaW- the cheapest I found in my area was $26 a person (before tax and gratuity) and it included food and 4 hours open bar but no appetizers or anything like that.
My friend in Utah paid $9/pp for her wedding dinner including fruit/veggie appetizers and ice cream for dessert. We're paying $32/pp just for dinner plates; and adding appetizers and drinks to that as well (she had a dry wedding, I'll get over that one day).

Angela, so cute! I believe 5 is the cutest age lol. Best man's bday is the day of our wedding so we're doing something fun for him too. I'm a big birthday person.
HeatherB, I think I'll have her sisters sleuth for me too. Right now, my plan is to ask my aunt if BM is free the day before the shower and then take her for lunch/a shopping spree. From what I'm remembering now, BM is pretty involved in the shower and probably won't want to miss out on setting anything up that day.
@Alyssa that girl must be lying or confused. $150 set fee for alcohol?? More like "set-up fee". That's ridiculous. There's no way that's possible.

@Alyssa, I've had food poisoning from the same thing a friend ate and we had it at separate intervals because she ate more of the undercooked food. I was sick a full 8 hours later than she was, but because my immune system sucked, I was sicker for longer.
@ Sass/@ Jo--good call on the Alice in Wonderland palette. FH scooped one up for me after I had a bad day at work (all the heart eyes for him, he buys me makeup b/c he knows it's my love language) and the entire time I was opening it up I felt like a little girl myself b/c the way they packaged it really is pretty magical. I can't speak for its versatility b/c I haven't been able to bring myself to use it yet (it's just too pretty/special), but I really was oohhhing and ahhhing out loud as I opened it.
I'm at around that. Wedding is in boulder, co. I hunted high and low for catering options. This place was the best value/quality for the price point. Most the others were $35-$65 a person. (though a lot of those options were plated full service)
It's 1300 for a catered buffet for ~75 (lasagna main course, sides, salad &GF Vegan option & kids option)
Our caterer: http://dishgourmet.com/
& then we are providing beer/wine options ourselves.
Lauren - your dress... I'm OBSESSED! So beautiful.
Alyssa that's terrifying. At least there was a mutual lunch involved.
I want to eat tacos... right meow.

AMW - Holy crap 9 bucks? I need to move my ass to Utah. Kidding of course. Our meal will come out to be about 40-45 per person and I thought that was a really good price. We looked at options close to 100 per person.
@ Sass/@ Jo-/ @kir : THAT PALETTE is gorgeous! I bought it then returned it due to buyers remorse. I just don't wear makeup enough to justify the purchase. The packaging alone on it is just to enchanted! Your right about the ooohhing and ahhing

AlyssaW I thinks it's definitely based on the area. The package we ended up choosing is $40/person but my friend getting married in the NYC/Hudson river area is paying triple and that was pretty much the average for her.
AlyssaW- Yeah the alcohol does seem off... Even with us having only about 30 drinking adults I expect to spend more than $150 in alcohol. Unless you were to get $3 wine bottles from trader joes and a light beer.
(nothing wrong with $3 chuck but wedding may be the time to splurge a bit a buy a nicer bottle xD )
