I LOVE IT! But no, I would not have it at a wedding reception. In order for sushi to be good- and SANITARY- it has to be fresh. Unless you have like 10 rollers, they can't keep up with the demand of people going through the buffet line. If it's done before, it will get warm and could harbor bacteria and make guests ill.

Even though I love sushi, if I went to a wedding that served it, I would pass.

    I LOVE sushi. It's awesome.

However, you need to think about your guests. Not everybody is crazy about raw seafood, some may even be allergic. I would say no to sushi, unless you know that the majority of your guests would be all about it. Smiley smile But, we can have a sushi date if you'd like since my FH is terrified of it! lol Smiley smile

Personally I love it... but for food safety reasons I would not serve it at a wedding unless it was being made fresh on the spot (which would prolly be VERY expensive! lol)

LOVE it, but I probably wouldn't have it at my reception because so many people don't. Unfortunately it would probably go to waste. It seems that most people don't like it, but those of us who do, REALLY do Smiley smile

I hate sushi lol. Everyone says I will love it if I go to their favorite place or if I try a certain kind. I've done that 5 times and I still hate it. I would also agree with PPs - I don't think you should serve it a wedding because not everyone loves it so it would be a waste.

Mmmm now I want some! I love sushi, but I don't know if I would want to eat the fish types at a wedding because of the freshness factor. My reception offers it also, but it seems so expensive and I don't think a lot of my guests would eat it. Most of the older members of my family gag at the mention of sushi!

I *love* sushi. However, we're not having it at our reception because we would have to pay $15 a head for it, and we suspect only about 1/2 our guests like it. I suppose it's for the best, so I don't end up with soy sauce on my dress, but...mmmmmmmmm....

If we had done it, we were going to make sure there would be a lot of cooked roll,s but...

@ Jlu...dont feel bad, I and such a dork when I try using chopsticks that I just end up using my fingers to pick it up..

I love it, and had it on the menu, but did away with it when i had to cut for budget's sake. Plus I figured not that many people would eat it.

@STB Mrs. Clark- I am so glad I am not alone. All of my friends are like pros at it and they are like, "It's not that hard." lol When I try to pick it up, all of the delicious bits come pouring out. **SIGH**

I love sushi, I could live off of it! but I wouldn't have is as a MAIN dish at my wedding, because too many people don't like it.. perhaps have some as one of your apitizers?
