Ring Shopping: Modern or Traditional?

Kind of a mix I guess. I had shown FH what I liked so he had the general idea of what I wanted but then he picked one out on his own that was similar to some of the elements I liked.

I showed her a variety of rings that I liked, not expecting her to choose one of them, but to use them for ideas. She did ultimately buy one of the rings that I sent her.

We went together, and when we discovered we had the same taste, I was like okay -- you take it away from here!

Modern, we went together but he picked it out himself and was exactly what I wanted!

Modern! He proposed with a temp ring to surprise me, then we went shopping together so I could pick my own. Yay.

I went shopping with FH and we saved 2 rings on our file at the jeweler. He picked one on his own and his dad went with him the day that they picked the diamond.

I told my fiancé what type of ring I wanted and we looked at rings just so I would know my ring size, but he completely surprised me when it came to him designing my ring. No regrets!!

It was a complete surprise. Traditional!

He gave me his mothers ring so we didnt go shopping at all so modern

Modern. We didn't do the proposal traditionally at all. We had been together 8+ years with 2 kids. We've talked about marriage on and off for years but never agreed it was the right time. After we did agree in more of a conversation than proposal, then we went ring shopping together.

I mean, he crept on my Pinterest wedding page and knew what I wanted lol

Traditional. My ring was a complete and total surprise.

Definately modern. We went together to look at rings and I absolutely fell in love with a bridal set so he purchased it then and there.

my e-ring is his great grandmother's ring. after she passed away his grandmother sent him a picture of the ring and said granny wanted him to give it to me when he was ready. him and I had already talked about wanting to get married. he showed me the picture to make sure I liked the ring.

I told him what I wanted and he surprised me with it.

I picked it out completely. Buying a ring is very expensive and I wanted the ring to be exactly what I wanted.

We went to multiple stores together but we only found one ring that was even similar to what I wanted so I gave him a picture of what I wanted and he’s getting it custom made with a few personalized tweaks. I actually still haven’t seen it yet!! Ahh!!

We went shopping together. I picked out 2 that I liked & he picked the one he liked the best from those 2 & that's the one I got.

Modern. He proposed with a family ring which was just a band. So he proposed with the wedding band and then we went and picked my engagement ring together

Mordern. We both went out and picked our rings together. ☺️
