Reply Card Wording ***forget etiquette* I NEED you to reply

Takeivia, on April 5, 2013 at 12:30 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 15

So I am trying to put together so wording for our reply cards. Basically I want the guests to know that they MUST send in their reply card otherwise, seats will not be reserved in their name. I am super strict about this. I know it may be harsh but this is one area I am not bending on. So serious, no reply card no seat. Please help. I don't want to sound too harsh but it needs to be harsh-ish :-)

Ex: A reply card must be received to reserve your seat(s). If you do not send in a reply card, the ushers will be unable to accomodate you.

What if they send it back and it gets lost in the mail?

Slim chance but I will be calling those I haven't heard from..but I don't want that list of calls to be long..Using the replies to do the seating chart. Have received some wedding invites that had the same concept Just didn't like their wording

I like Katie's RSVP required to ensure seating.

it's drives the point home with out being overly harsh...

Good Smiley smile There are 2 members on here that had RSVP's get lost in the mail. Kris received her "yes" reply 3 months after the wedding occurred. And Carole never received her MOH "yes" reply... so, it does happen Smiley smile

LOL ~ how formal is your invites and will your guests see the humor in this? I don't have the personality to pull it off, but maybe you do?

Please place this rsvp and pre-stamped envelope in the mail before Takeivia needs to hunt you down. We look forward to celebrating with you and need this card returned by June 1st to guarantee your seat.

Anyone that doesn't physically mail this card in will be placed at the kids table.

I like Katie's with the word "ensures," but if your style can work with Hayley's, I'd do that! It gets your point across but somehow still seems lighthearted the way she out it on the sample.

Takeivia: I had to do the same thing! I am very strict about the rsvping via the cards or on our website. I'm not calling anyone at all. Lol.

I like Katie P's wording for the reply cards. Very nicely put and gets the point across. Smiley smile

Thanks everyone..I was downstairs printing...sooo I stayed away from being too wordy and simply put. RSVP required to attend reception. We've been planning for a LONG time and if you don't let us know you're coming then, DON"T come because we are predicted to be full. Luckily my friends and family know how I am and word will spread that you won't be allowed in the reception if you do not RSVP.

    Thanks again ladies :-)

Hayley, you always crack me up. I love the kid table thing. Only problem with my wedding is that everyone would end up at the kiddie table anyway.

MOH had the formal dining room all set up for people to eat on St Patrick's day, and then bamf... the children sat in the formal dining room, we all sat outside.
