NWR...should I go blonde? **PICS INCLUDED**

So I've never EVER dyed my hair a light color. My natural hair color is mousy brown. If I dye my hair, it's always to a really dark brown. But lately, I've been considering dying my hair blonde. What do you ladies think? I've been messing with a thing online to see what it would look like Pic 1:...

Pic 1: When I dye my hair dark brown

Pic 2: Comp version of me with blonde hair

Pic 3: My natural hair color

I sent a picture to DH and he said "Yes!" "Double Yes!" "Triple Yes!" ... all in 3 separate texts messages.

Last time I chopped my hair and went back to my normal hair color (b/c DH said Yes to that as well) I got home and he told me he hated it...when I asked him what he hated...he said everything. I cried for 3 hours after that.

I know it's just hair...but hair has always been my thing I have a hard time changing...I love it long and I love it dark...but lately, for some reason...I've been wanting a change.

What do you ladies think??

I personally like the dark the best but if you're looking for a change then why not try it? You can always have it dyed darker if you hate it!

I wanted to dye my hair darker as I have a dirty blond color naturally but always end up going more blond each time LOL

:-) Ya I see what you mean, I've always wondered what it would be like to have blonde hair though..maybe someday..although Nana is scaring me lol. Also I showed DS your pics and he was like I'd say she should go blonde (MEN! lol). also he was like how old is she, like 25? :-) Didn't you say in a previous post you were closer to 30, I agree with him, you look younger than your age :-)

I agree with some of the PP, I definitely like your hair darker (I dye mine dark too b/c I have blue eyes and olive skin) I USED to be VERY blonde...when I want a blonde never thought of doing anything else...then i went dark...and now I'll never got back to blonde (had white blonde hair until puberty and it has steadily been getting darker since)

Personally, I think the blonde does wash you out a bit, and throwing some blonde, whether its chunky or not, highlights in there will brighten and lighten it up a lot more than you realize!! Maybe try that first, you can always add more highlights or dye your whole head. Speaking from experience, it is a lot of upkeep!!

Blonde does not make you look older! In fact quite the opposite is true.

Leena ... I know hairstylist (Like Andrea Ank) are going to cringe when they hear this ... but my dark brown color comes from a box color. Just one solid color. I'll have to go to the store and figure out the brand and color I use (I don't know it off hand)...I haven't dyed my hair since my wedding back in October

AbZ ... the men at my office all thought the blonde on the other page lower in the post was the way to go. They were ogling all over it LOL ... Men! is right! ha!! Smiley smile

That's so sweet of both you and your DH...I am 29! I love hearing that I look younger than what I am! phew! Smiley smile

I really like your hair with the rich, dark brown. I think the blonde looks nice, but the brown looks great with your coloring. Maybe just do some highlights?

Haha I used to have blonde streaks and later, I had my hair dyed darker by a co-worker's wife who was a stylist.. I hated it so I tried going over it with box dye and it gave off a greenish tint so I ended up going to my stylist.. she yelled at me.. yes.. YELLED! I should have known better ;P

Don't worry Andrea...I know it's easier to do store bought dye for darker colors...but I would never attempt going lighter on my own...I promise you that Smiley smile

I like the natural color and the dark brown, but why not go blonde lol

I think since hair color is something that can be changed if you don't like it, you should change it if you feel like it. I don't know if that shade of blonde will work with your skin tone though. It might wash you out.

If you decide to go blonde have a salon do it for you! It looks super fakey when you do it yourself and you can severely damage your hair (I'm going back to my natural blonde color for my wedding--but from experience know better that to DIY it ) Also, if you dont like it be very careful dying it back to brown....you can turn your hair green if youre not careful

Jen P~ the color that you put on after the highlights probably had an ash color to it and thats why it had a greenish tint to it.

However, I would never yell at a client! If they want to try to do their own hair, let them. I can be there for them when it doesnt work out! lol

I agree with Erin F I let my natural hair color grow out( profile picture) and it has taken me about 5 times to the salon to get myself blonde again, if you do go blonde I wouldnt dye it one straight color because when your roots start to come in you will have a harsh line of root and color, highlights are usually best to do gradually so you wont damage your hair and have harsh lines when roots start to come in ( just my experience ) But i love your hair dark it looks great on you, but the picture of you blonde looks amazing as well!
