NWR - Eye Glasses emergency - Where do you Get your Glasses?

So FH was in his gym class and his teacher accidentally hit him in the face with the football now FH's glasses are so bent out of shape he can't wear them. They are also really old and falling apart anyway so they need to be replaced sooo bad. We don't have the money right now because my lame a*s job still hasn't gotten my background check back (seriously I'm 18 with no criminal record COME ON! How hard could it be?!) and we just spent the last of our money on necessities like school stuff that was a must to graduate, and groceries. Fortunately our school is AWESOME and our counselors have a program for students that they will help pay for things like this in situations like ours. Now we have to find a eye dr. that isn't going to charge out the wazoo to get him new glasses. Do you ladies/gents have any suggestions? Right now I think we are going to go with America's best, they have the exact same pair FH had that he LOVES and they are pretty cheap from what I was told, and seen online!

I'm not sure if you have one near you but Vision works usually has a 2 for $99 sale.

Walmart has great deals too.

Thanks Ladies! FH's brother said something about us not needing to pay too much since FH's lenses are still perfectly fine his frames just need replacing but I want FH to get an eye exam to confirm his proscription since its been soooooo long since he had his last one.

Just FYI on your background check. I'm the HR liasion for my office and have to deal with backgrounds with new hires. The speed of the background check coming back all depends on how clogged up the court system is in your state.

Wendy ~ That is weird I mean it is only for walmart. How in depth would it have to be?! My FBIL when he got his done (he was the same age as me and held more jobs) and his was back right after he took his pee test (which has to be done in a 24 hour period) so I can't figure out why mine is taking so darn long

I use www.zennioptical.com

They have TONS of glasses and are suuuuuper cheap!! Absolutely *love* them.

The only thing is, you need your prescription to place your order. And if you do use them, make sure you get your PD (Pupillary Distance)! It's not part of the prescription most of the time.

Eyeland tends to be pretty cheap too...they usually give free exams at different times of years too and have a lot of sales, just to check them out if they are near you

I get mine from America's Best. It's pretty affordable. I have heard eyemart is pretty good too.
