No sex before wedding?

I'm just wondering if anyone taking a mutual break before the wedding. I asked FH if we could take a month off before our wedding night. Is that dumb?

I think if you have been abstinent the whole time, then I think it shouldn't hurt. But it could seem to him that you are "cutting him off". To be honest, it really doesn't make a difference if you wait or not. We didn't wait and our wedding night was fabulous. Smiley smile

Eh, we aren't planning on taking a break before the wedding, but the more I think about it, I think that last minute details and our accomodations the week before will make it challenging...so we might be forced into 1 week of abstinence before the wedding night Smiley sad

We agreed when we first got together that we would wait for our wedding night. So, we will have been abstaining for three years by the time my wedding gets here!

My FH and I had sex for most of our relationship, and then for reason of spiritual convictions we decided to abstain from about a year ago to our wedding night, we had a few slip ups (we're human after all Smiley winking ) but since we've been engaged we've abstained and we plan to until our wedding. That being said, we're both really anxious for our wedding night!

I honestly do not think the sex is better after a long abstinance period. We abstained for a week, but that was purely because we were so busy and I was up late DIYing wedding stuff every night. Our wedding night was amazing.

I can understand if there is a religious commitment you have made to God and Jesus and each other to stop sinning. That is not my religious view but I can understand why others feel that way. But if it's just to make the wedding night better, I think you might be setting yourself up for disappointment.

For one, not everyone has mind-blowing sex on their wedding night. Some people are so tired and/or tipsy they don't even get there. Second, the whole short-lived aspect on his end. Lastly, you are putting so much of your heart into it being amazing, if it's not you are going to be disappointed and that can have lasting reprecussions. Just something to think about for those of you doing pre-wedding, nonreligious abstinance.

I think it is great! My future husband and I are waiting until our wedding night! There is so much anticipation, it makes it very exciting and of course I am really looking forward to our wedding night.

I don't think it is dumb. However, I also don't have high expectations for our wedding night. We will be half drunk and super exhausted. I won't be disappointed if it doesn't even happen that night. The next night will be our mini-moon so hopefully that will be a little more relaxing.

Mrs. Goetz: I know this is an old post but.......LOL. I pretty much did the same thing with 50SOG. After several days of alone time......I became anything but submissive and told him I needed to see him.
