No sex before wedding?

I'm just wondering if anyone taking a mutual break before the wedding. I asked FH if we could take a month off before our wedding night. Is that dumb?

I think my husband would have called off the wedding (or suggested we elope to get it over with sooner!) if I'd suggested such a thing. Seeing as sex helps people relax *and* feel closer, I can't see the benefit of abstaining at such a hectic, emotional time, but lots of people do!

My FI and I are not sexually intimate because we choose to wait until marriage. We're both looking forward to our wedding night!!!!!!

I think it will make the wedding night even more fun. But I don't think I would be able to do it and my FH would not be happy! Good luck if you decide to do it... or not do it.

It's not by choice... I started my period early (THANK GOODNESS IT WON'T BE HERE AROUND THE WEDDING/HONEYMOON! LOL) on Sunday and by the time I'm completely finished with it, my brother and his wife will be here staying with us (Saturday thru Monday) then my dad will be here (Tuesday thru Tuesday).... I do not foresee any sex going on with my family sleeping in our living room.

So... wedding night it is I suppose. :-(

I don't believe we will. Though I have thought about it.

However, my grandpa, who was married to Grandma for over 50 years before she passed, said something really funny when I talked about how FH and I were doing all pictures before the wedding because I wasn't superstitious. He said "Well hell you live together, why wouldn't you not see each other before!" I think my grandpa is pretty with it at nearly 74!

I like that idea. It wouldn't work for us because we're already like an old married couple. We have gone weeks before for no reason at all.

I personally think it's a wonderful idea it will make the honeymoon more special my fh and I have stopped because of several reasons not just the wedding but it's only right yes we may have done it before but when you are spiritually growing you know when you are doing wrong and correct it. So we stopped a couple of months ago and my wedding date isn't til 12/7/13 (yea that's a while from now lol) but its all worth it the anticipation the connection on another level and the first time we connect all over again but in the right way it will be such a blessing to us and we can enjoy it and get all the greatness we suppose to receive out of it the way God wants us to. Plus that gives us an oppertunity to show each other how much we love each other in another way and connect in another way on a totally nother level. I t also helps with self control and respect. I know I want to enter my marriage right. So I say if you want to try it its not dumb at all its special...good luck

I think its a good idea...FH and I hadnt discussed a specific period of time, but we have talked about taking some time off before our wedding to build up the anticipation of our wedding night, honeymoon, etc... I just hope we can make it!

My abstention was due to his back injury. Well surgery is over and he's back to work and I'm... apparently still abstaining. One thing I can say as a personal anecdote, abstaining did not last to longevity...

I think the time off will help us become more intimate with each other in other ways than sexually and yes the anticipation will be great. My FH is really into this as well.

I dont think its dumb but it's really not for me . Wedding planning can be very stressful and sex is one of the best ways to release that stress

I don't think it's a dumb idea. But we'll probably abstain for like the week before, not the month, because I think we'd both go crazy if we had to go a whole month. At the end of my "week" each month he practically jumps me because it's been "forever" since we were able to have sexy times. I admire you if you can do it.

    We're abstaining the week before,

@ Lisa M. Congrats on making that commitment. We tried to but failed. Probably way too much information, but I have a small piece of advice for you, look into having your hymen surgically broken. When mine did (finger play w/ FH) It hurt so bad I thought I would never have sex. Hurt much more than PMS though with less blood. Not good for a wedding night.

No it's not. I asked my FH about this, and we both know we couldn't last a week on a mutual strike, just because there'd be too much temptation. So we've decided that if we don't we don't and if we do we do. We're not going to try to avoid it, but we aren't going to be going for it every chance we get

Not by choice! Me and FH have been seperated entirely too much to voluntarily give up sex lol. So while we will have gone a month and a half without sex the night of our wedding, it is not something that I would have chosen to do.

I think we will just play things by ear if we do we do or if we don't we don't
