No dancing wedding - activity suggestions?

Samantha, on September 1, 2020 at 11:26 AM Posted in New York Planning 0 5
Hi!

We're going through with our wedding on September 25, 2020 in Westchester, just much smaller than what we planned for our original date. With the current covid restrictions in NY, there's no dancing allowed. Does anyone have ideas for activities for guests to pass time where there would normally be dance sets?
What we have planned so far is to give guests "mini activity booklets with a pen" (yes I know this is kind of cheesy). They have a photo scavenger hunt card (do it encourages guests to take pictures of the little candid things), a wedding emoji game sheet and a mad libs type of "our happily ever after" story.
Do I need to plan anything else? I just want to make sure guests dont get bored.
Thanks!!

Hi Samantha! What about playing The Shoe Game? That's always a fun one!

You're definitely not the only one in this situation - here are a few recent discussions you should check out with helpful suggestions: No dancing at wedding?!, Making the reception last longer, No dancing - now what?, and Socially distanced activities (no dancing allowed).

I second the shoe game! I also love the scavenger hunt ideas and if you include disposable cameras too you can have multiple vantage points! I’ve thought about a deck of cards as my favor. Just buying a custom label on etsy and everyone can play card games.

I would definitely do more of the traditional “bridal shower” games. Perhaps “how well do you know the bride and groom” questionnaire game , or auction off the centerpiece (if it’s small enough lol).
