Need opinions - I want to DIY bling up my wedding shoes!

Amanda, on January 2, 2012 at 2:42 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 13

I love my wedding shoes, but I feel like they need some bling. I know there are other shoes out there that already have rhinestones, but these match my BM dresses, so I decided to go with them. Plus my dress has a bow and the bow on these matches my dress. So, here's where I need your help. I would like to add rhinestones to them, but I am not sure where on the shoes to add them. I want to add them to the heel for sure. I am also thinking about adding some to the bow. What do you think? Any suggestions? Should I use only one size rhinestones or multiple sizes? Here are some pics I am using for inspiration.

I think adding them to the middle of the bow and heel would be a nice touch. I would stick with the same size rhinestones though.

I agree Kimberly, Add then to the middle of the bow and heel, that would look really pretty.

I'm doing the same thing with my wedding shoes and they're hot pink too! I'm adding rhinestones to the heel and under the peep toe. You need to get two sizes of rhinestones. ss12 and ss16 other wise they won't cover correctly. I ordered my stones from ebay. Great prices. They are crystal but not swarovski so the price is unbeatable. I'm doing mine with the light rose pink stones.

Here's the link in case you need it.

    Good luck!

I'm going to have "sparkling" shoes as well! I love the idea of the sparkling heel but adding a bit of sparkle to the toe would be really nice too.

The heel would look nice, but I woudn't do the bow unless the bows on the dresses have rhinestones (because then it wouldn't really "match" anymore.) What about a line around the top edge of the shoes?

I'd honestly leave them as they are. Those shoes are great (I have them as well), and I have worn them 203 times since the wedding. If you bling them out, you can't wear them.

If you do it, I'd keep it to the heel only.

Love the shoes I would only do the heels. @Tammy M. Thanks for the info I can't believe I haven't looked on ebay yet for the rhinestones. I'm thinking about doing it also but in Blue.

I really like jeweled heels as well Smiley smile I'd youtube it to get ideas and practice on a pair of heels you no longer want or pick up a pair from the local thrift store. Allow the shoes to sit for a day and wear them around the house. This way you can ensure your method works. Good luck!
