Keep or Cancel: Clinking for Kisses?

Lynnie, on July 16, 2019 at 11:05 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 218

Clink Clink!! 🥂 It's time to smooch again, as demanded by your guests! Are you saying keep to this tradition because you'll take any opportunity to lay another kiss on your new spouse's lips? 😘 Or do you want to cancel the incessant kissing-on-command clinking demands?

Would you keep or cancel clinking for kisses?

Cancel. I’ve never actually seen this at a wedding and would find it super annoying.

Keep! We find it funny and entertaining at other weddings so we will do it at ours as well.

I'm not sure. We'll probably do it a couple of times if it happens, but if it gets annoying we'll stop responding to the clinks.

Cancel. We didn't do this at our wedding. If people tried it, we didn't go along with it haha. It always annoys me when I'm at weddings and guests do this.

I absolutely hate this tradition, mainly bc the sound is so annoying. Also, I don’t think it’s something that you can really cancel as the guests just do it at random.

Cancel. I've never seen this done at a wedding and I think it'd be annoying to stop what we're doing every time there's a clink.

Cancel. Too many kids will be at our wedding that would think this is funny. I can see it getting annoying very quickly.

Cancel. We are not clinking for kisses (or when the bell rings). We have made a kissing menu, where if the crowd or a group or a person wants us to kiss they need to complete a task on that menu!

I can see how a couple would enjoy this, but I’m going to have to caaaancel this for my wedding. Come to think of it, this tradition not done too often at Black weddings. I recently went to a wedding that did it and I kept thinking someone was about to do a speech. Haha, I completely forgot about what it meant 😅.

Cancel. We had guests try this and H and I ignored them. People always pick the worst time to clink glasses. Everyone at our wedding kept doing it while we were trying to eat dinner which I really wanted to be able to enjoy.

Keep it even though we aren't having any glass to clink. I may put a small bell on each table
