I always thought (yeah, tacky, I know) that if people invite me for their weddings, they actually want me to be there. But now I understand people do not expect all of their guests to show up, which is also tacky. We currently have 2 tacky invitations for 2 weddings this summer. I’m wondering if we...

I always thought (yeah, tacky, I know) that if people invite me for their weddings, they actually want me to be there. But now I understand people do not expect all of their guests to show up, which is also tacky.

We currently have 2 tacky invitations for 2 weddings this summer. I’m wondering if we are among those tacky guests who should decline but to the couple’s tacky surprise, we accept? Before you say anything negative, I understand it’s tacky we haven’t RSVPed before we received the invitations.

Is it tacky if I call the couples and ask them if that really want us to show up? Or should we decline and just send them a tacky gift?

Please help, but don’t comment if you’re going to say something tacky. Thanks!

    So this is like, a safe place? Where I can, like, say things and not get, like, yelled at? Omg this is like so awesome!! Is my excessive use of like, like tacky, like?

    My prayers have been answered. I wake up on Monday morning and this thread is on top. I thought I was going to have to search through 10 pages to revive it.

    Happy Tacky Monday to you MissB. Tacky or stupid is my muther in law messaging all of our kids shit about how we don't speak to her and how mean I am. Stupid is posting it on all their facebooks account and thinking it was in private.

    Yep your right, I spent saturday afternoon riding that one right up her tacky rear. Then I went to church to pray for the stupid.

    Holy. Wow. I love this. Almost as much as Hayley's pictures. So...on a tangent...is it shoddy of me to only want to spend $1K on alcohol for 60 people? Since I have yet to see a post that long about cash bars...maybe I should start a new one...

    @Buffee, we weren't supposed to have an open bar but we haven't talked to anyone yet that actually paid for their drinks (we were only supposed to be covering brunch cocktails -- mimosas, bellinis and Kahlua and coffee.) We were just under $1K for 66 people (not all drinking.)

    So, YES, TOTALLY SHODDY. (In a not really shoddy way, but let's keep with the theme of this thread, shall we?)

    I'm really wondering how long a post can be before they shut it down....I feel like I remember back when I was just joining WW a few posts getting shut down because they got too long and nothing was ever as long as this one.

    also just to continue with all things tacky- It was totally shoddy of the police officer to tack on a failure to show proof of insurance fine bc I couldn't find my card that was right in front of me GAH. Just one more thing to make Money suck more
