I always thought (yeah, tacky, I know) that if people invite me for their weddings, they actually want me to be there. I always thought (yeah, tacky, I know) that if people invite me for their weddings, they actually want me to be there. But now I understand people do not expect all of their guests to show up, which is also tacky.

We currently have 2 tacky invitations for 2 weddings this summer. I’m wondering if we are among those tacky guests who should decline but to the couple’s tacky surprise, we accept? Before you say anything negative, I understand it’s tacky we haven’t RSVPed before we received the invitations.

Is it tacky if I call the couples and ask them if that really want us to show up? Or should we decline and just send them a tacky gift?

Please help, but don’t comment if you’re going to say something tacky. Thanks!

    @RayRay, THAT is ultimate tackiness.

@Lynzey, I'm following the story closely, although you did keep me busy with guessing. Which, of course is...

Wow using shoddy makes it sound more dirty, like the word slutty. Not that I'm calling us slutty lol

I tell you what is shoddy.... I got more details about that wedding, where no one is being fed but the parents...

"wedding just to watch her eat sent me info for her registry. Unless I get her a $7 measuring cup or a $22 wine corker NOTHING else is under $50."

@Hayley, is your contact actually considering buying them something and/or attending this calamity?

@Amy, this is deadly serious business. Please focus. I can ONLY forgive you because the 15th is coming up.

@Hayley, as far as I'm concerned, I would make a pact with all the guests to get her the $7 measuring cup. That's slutty.

More from my friend invited to the tasteless wedding....

"I don't feel I should bring anything expensive since it all seems to be a ploy for gifts anyways." She doesn't even know if she is going yet.

Wait, do you like these gaudy people? I'm just wondering if you are on good terms with these crass individuals. It is helpful to know how crude they are in giving my garish answers to these vulgar questions.

I'm not sure why symbols don't work. I've tried very hard to use them but it just cuts off my message :'(

actually, it is because the less than symbol denotes a comment when using html. So i think thats why the heart doesnt work

I am actually glad that most people don't know how to use HTML because if they did know, that would mean that not only would they SCREAM THE ENTIRE DARN TIME THAT THEY ARE TYPING, it would also be bold italicized and underlined. Maybe even multi-colored. Is that classist?

What's up with the Christmas ornaments and a banana slicer???

I like "crass" and "garish". I'll have to start using them regularly.

I kind of think this article is tacky. Its about carrying around your placenta still attached to the baby until it falls off naturally. It would be REALLY tacky to attend a wedding whilst hoisting along your placenta and newborn.
