No many couples have them sauter right before , these day though it varies. It's up to you! Some ladies never sauter them.

I was planning on doing soldering them together but then I heard stories about people not getting them back in time for the wedding so I am still debating.

Are you wearing the ring soldered together already ? That might be a little weird.

    I don't think it's weird. However,I wouldn't wear it until my wedding.

Also, I will most likely do it also...but I have to have a special band made because my ring is not a typical engagement ring. Still thinking aout what I am going to do.

Mine won't be soldered together because I want to be able to take off my e-ring when cleaning, gardening, etc, but I never take off my wedding band.

Mine aren't soldered, but I did wear my wedding band as a right hand ring before the wedding. Mine are white gold, I wanted to make sure they were the same color at the wedding b/c they can yellow with wear and need to be redipped occasionally.

I would maybe find it odd to wear the soldered set on your left hand before the wedding as if you were married. I would probably wear it on the right side instead. But really it's up to you.

My ering is really a heart solitaire with another band that has a diamond on each side. Yes, it was soldered together because together it is my ering.

I chose not to solder because I can wear my wedding ring solo.

I think you should do what you would like to do, however, I would not wear it prior to the wedding. I am not superstitious about much but wearing prior scared me.

Mine are not soldered either. You usually have to go up in size, they feel/fit smaller when they are thicker. It is just that your finger bends different with them together.

My DH didn't want my rings soldered together, so we haven't. I really doesn't matter to me. I like the option of wearing them separately or together.

I definitely wouldn't wear them until the wedding. You might want to wear a different ring in it's place so it doesn't feel weird.

I got my two wedding bands soldered before our wedding and I'm currently wearing it--I get married this Saturday. I don't believe in bad luck and i couldnt find a replacement ring until the wedding in my size (3.5).

Nope its not... my friend did, she got hers back about 2 weeks before the wedding. But she didn't wear it, we went to clare's and bought a cheap 10 fake e-ring and wore that (in fact she got so many complaints on her people thought it was real!)

I got both rings at Kays and I got mine soldered before the wedding. They say it takes 2 weeks, but I took it in about 6 weeks before. I figured that way it gives me time to have them ship it out, solder it, and ship it back twice *just* in case they didn't do it the way I wanted. Of course, the lady I was working with was trying to tell me to do it a different way than what I wanted, which is why I left a lot of time and expected it to be wrong. Anyway, it came back within 2 weeks and was exactly what I wanted! I also had a travel set from Kohls that cost me $10 and I wore the engagement ring from that set until the wedding.

Mine are soldered because this set was my great grandmothers. I would have un-soldered them but the jeweler said it wasn't a good idea. The ring is over 65 yrs old. FH is adding a wedding band that matches to the other side. I wear this wedding set as my engagement ring. It's not weird to me. I am unsure if I will solder the band he adds to this set.

Btw, who cares if your friend thinks it's weird. Wear what you want.

I am bringing mine in 2 months before the wedding, to make sure there back in time. I wont wear them till the wedding. I'll wear my promise ring in place of it untill the wedding.

To address the topic of not having a ring to wear while getting ready/walking down the aisle - you aren't supposed to wear a ring (even your e-ring), because the wedding band is supposed to go on first (closest to the heart) and it can't if you are already wearing a ring!

If you do have it sautered, I wouldn't wear it until your husband puts it on your finger during the ceremony.

I'm giving mine (e-ring) to my mom to hold onto until after the ceremony. I will put it on for the reception and have it sautered when I return from the honeymoon!

I had mine done before and just swapped my other rings around for a place holder.

@Miranda, there's no law that says you can't wear a ring getting ready or walking down the aisle. A lot of women wear their e-ring walking down the aisle and just swap the rings after the ceremony. Or they wear their e-ring on the right hand (which is what I did) and then switch it over afterwards. There's nothing wrong with either of those options, it's really just whatever you personally want to do.
