Is it okay to wear your rings when you wash your hands?

I've been taking off my white gold engagement ring when I wash my hands and shower but FH freaks out because he thinks I'll lose it, forget it, or drop it down the drain if I don't keep it on. So is it okay to wear your ring when you wash your hands and/or take a shower? What do you all do?

I take mine off. I really need to get it sized smaller but I'm loosing weight so I don't want to size it twice.

I have ring holders at the sink and a cute little box type thing my friend gave me when I got engaged for it when I sleep. I'm an active sleeper and I sleep with my arm under the pillow. After too many nights waking up to ring marks on my face I take it off now.

I take mine off when I do dishes, shower or put lotion on. I don't take them off for general hand washing with hand soap though.

I never ever take it off. Unless I am swimming in a body of water or lifting at the gym

I take mine off when I shower and go to bed. Otherwise I wash my hands with them on.

I remove mine to shower because it would get tangled in my hair. I remove it to clean and wash dishes. General hand washing (like in a restroom), it stays on.

I never take mine off because I have heard horror stories about rings going down the drain.

I personally rarely have my ring on at home. If I wash my hands in public I usually leave it on but if there's no stopper in the drain I either take it off or use my thumb to hold onto it. At home I take it off when I walk in and don't put it back on until I head out again unless we have people over and then I will wear it. But it just feels odd to me to have jewelry on at home. I goes onto the ring holder and then I don't have to mess with it. Plus then I don't risk anything happening to it.

My engagement ring is sterling silver and while I take it off when I'm in the shower, I leave it on to wash my hands.

I wear mine when I wash them with soap but take them off when I use hand sanitizer. I'm a teacher so many use it a lot but k just can't imagine it being good for them. I sleep in my ring but also take it off to shower.

I take it off when I shower, use cleaners and sometimes when I do dishes. Also to put lotion on. Other than that, it stays out right on my finger!

When I wash my hands I keep my ring on. But not when I shower.

My sister (and a co-worker too) actually started getting a rash on her finger and found out it was from water sitting on her skin not being able to dry probably because of the ring. Now she has to take off the ring, properly dry her hand/ring finger, before putting the ring back on....rash cleared right up! But she is having a hard time keeping up with her ring having to take it off so often.

I don't remove mine every time I wash my hands. But I do have a ring dish next to my sink and remove them during dishes and more serious cleaning. I also have a dish on my dresser and they go there when I go to bed and while I'm showering. I'll often leave them there if I go for a run, but if I went to the gym and had them on I would just leave them on.

I take it off to sleep, because I don't want it to snag on anything, center stone is pretty out there so I place it in a ring holder. Other than that, I keep it on almost always, shower, hand washing, etc. I will take it off if cleaning with harsh products or if I'm doing some type of work that may cause me to bang it often. Out of the house I never take it off- I'm sure the day I do my pocket would have a hole! Haha
