Is it just assumed that women dream of their wedding when they're little girls?

Mrs. Turner2B, on June 25, 2010 at 12:17 PM Posted in Planning 0 39

Because I didn't and know many women who didn't...or are they just embarrassed to say they did? Did you dream of your wedding as a little girl? I won't judge. Smiley smile

I didn't dream of mine no, I never pictured myself getting married. But I did have a wedding for our German Shepard and Scottish Terrier...my step-dad wasn't too happy about me putting his big tough German Shepard in a dress though lol

I didn't dream of my wedding as a little girl. Actually, I always thought that I would be independent and single forever because I didn't have very many good males in my life. I was afraid of finding someone just like my father and thought I would be better of single and traveling the world and doing things on my own and my way. However, I met FH in High School and that changed everything... I fell in love and the rest was history. It wasn't until recently that I started dreaming of a wedding and even then it was a very distance dreaming. As I am diving deeper and deeper into planning things are coming together and I'm discovering the wedding of my dreams as I go along. I do think that it is "expected" that girls have dreamed of their wedding their whole life... but I don't think that is necessarily the norm all the time. It's different for everyone though!!

Not really... I did when I got older and actually planed on getting married... I think the only thing i really dreamed about was that I wanted to get married in the evening and I wanted there to be lots of people!!! haha, but now i'm having a relatively small (150) wedding, but I think the less you dreamed about it the harder it is cuz you have no idea what you want!

I did. In 8th grade my best friend and I played "perfect wedding" all the time. It's so special to me that we're still friends and she's a BM for the real thing!

I didn't. I didn't want to get married till I started dating Ian. I always thought I'd be single and happy. That changed. Lol. Now I'm married and happy.

I'm still very, very young. But throughout life and the things I've been through, I'm mature for my age. But ever since I was a little girl I've thought about getting married. I always wanted a June wedding with the traditional red, black, and white colors and typical wedding etiquette. But so far it's nothing like I've planned! Ever since I've been engaged though, I've been obsessed with planning!

I am on same page as heavenst. I didn't have strong males in my life so I never dreamed of getting married and I was too afraid to fall in love. But when we got engaged, I wanted a spring wedding. But we are now having a winter wedding in Feb and I never dreamed to get married in secret in Dec through lol. We are doing it with JOP for military reasons.

I didn't. I knew I wanted to get married, but never dreamed about the actual wedding. I only went to a few weddings as a child. I am now planning my second marriage. My first, I was so scared to plan something, that we just went to the JP. But I always felt bad for not having something more. So, this time... I'm having a small wedding, maybe 80 people. Only now, with a guy thats perfect for me, am I excited and having trouble sleeping, to have an awesome wedding to start an awesome marriage.

I never pictured myself married, and I definitely never imagined a wedding as a kid/teenager. The first time I gave any thought at all to myself in a wedding dress, I was 24.

I never did either. But in HS, in fashin class our project was to create a wedding day and dress everyone up with pictures cut out from magazines. I wish I could find those notes now! lol

I never imagined my wedding, especially as a little girl. When I got into my teens, I just assumed I'd have a long term boyfriend and be a career woman, living in large cities and jetting off on business all the time. Right before DH and I started dating I realized that if I kept dating guys who weren't good enough to marry I was just going to keep getting guys who weren't good enough to marry! So I upped my standards, and DH came along right after that with the same intent.

I always dreamed of my wedding. I made dresses out of sheets and curtains. I picked flowers in my backyard and I married all the neighborhood boys. Hahaa.

When I got into my teens though, I honestly did not want to get married. My parents had a super messy divorce and I wanted to avoid that at all costs. Then I met FS... And now I'm all about weddings again. :]
