Inexpensive farm/barn venue!

jessica, on September 22, 2016 at 9:40 AM Posted in Planning 0 175

I'm getting married in november of 2017, and my theme is fall! My girls and I will be wearing boots, I really want a farm/barn type place but cant find any under $3000! My budget is capped at $2000 and I live in Macon so it can't be more than about 45 minutes away. HELP?!

Is your venue budget $2,000 or your whole budget $2,000?

Just my venue budget is $2000! I've pretty much already got everything figured out except for the venue!

If your budget caps at 2000 you're going to have to adjust your expectations and realize you can't afford a barn wedding.

It is the reality though. I would look into maybe a different type of outdoor wedding maybe one that doesn't include a barn... the reality of wedding planning is that if your budget is low you will need to adjust your standards. Thanks

It is true though. You need to adjust your expectations since the venues are over your budget. Have you looked into a park pavillion? Just make sure that you can afford the tables, chairs, caterer and bartender. Also, this is the internet. You don't get to dictate who responds to your thread.

Shannon's comment wasn't negative, it was realistic and honest. She was not rude. You will get lots of opinions on here and you won't always like or agree with them, but most of the time they are not rude. Keep searching and hope you find a venue within your budget. If you don't, you may have to take a look at your budget and cut elsewhere, or adjust your expectations and find a different venue you can afford for your budget.

Agree with PP, you might have to temper your expectations.

Also, I get your new OP but you aren't going to get anywhere with that attitude. You asked a question to an internet forum. You got honest responses. If you want someone to just co-sign you and not answer truthfully, ask a friend or a relative. That's not what we're here for.

I can't afford my dream venue because any of them would take way too much of my budget. It sucks. I wish I could afford what I wanted, but I had to accept reality. I found a beautiful historic home surrounded by gardens for really cheap because it was owned by the city. Is it perfect? No. Is it pretty? Yes. Is it in my budget? Yes. Try looking at government-owned properties. They tend to be cheaper.

All I'm asking for is people that have experience with inexpensive wedding venues in that style. I have seen a couple but my dates weren't there or they weren't taking any more weddings. I did not ask for people to gang up on me and tell me I should get over it and I'm not going to get what I want, therefore I ask that if you don't know of a venue in that budget and style, don't comment on here just to crush my dreams.

Maybe see if you can find a remote empty barn on a piece of property and try to find out how to contact the property owner and see fi they will let you rent it out for the night from them. I was going to do that and rent the barn out for the night for 500 bucks, but decided to get married at my Dads place instead because it was more meaningful to me. So it is definitely possible, its not a venue, its an old barn that is empty. Check your local equine communities - Then you DIY for the rest of what is needed. Where there is a will there is a way! I'm sure you can find a barn to rent in your area for 2000 bucks or under for the night! Just takes a creative approach!

We can't help you with finding venues in your area because 99% of us don't live where you do. We're just saying that if you can't find anything that fits your vision in your budget, you might have to rethink your vision.

I've never seen someone have a barn wedding for $2,000 whose family didn't already own said barn; meaning the money just went towards cleaning and decorating the venue.

A&W I completely understand that, but If you dont live where I do why is everyone commenting saying I can't find anything in my budget when they don't even live in my area? I'm not trying to be rude at all, just asking for positive opinions and ideas like Ariana's..

We're just going off of the information that you gave us. You were the one who said you couldn't find a barn for under $3000.

I know that's what you were looking for (creative ideas outside the box) not people to tell you they feel you cant afford your wedding and to lower your expectations lol. Im also a low budget bride without all the fluff like a wedding planner and all that jazz. Lots of harsh opinions on here and I'm starting to notice they will eat you alive if you give them the chance, from other post I've seen on here. Take that and see what you can work with, being in Georgia I am sure you can find some local barn owner who needs the cash to work with you! It may not be this gorgeous venue, but with a little crafting and lighting for an evening fall wedding, it could be so gorgeous! I see your vision!

You may need to think further out, like an hour to two hours away to find something that works.
