Inexpensive farm/barn venue!

I'm getting married in november of 2017, and my theme is fall! My girls and I will be wearing boots, I really want a farm/barn type place but cant find any under $3000! My budget is capped at $2000 and I live in Macon so it can't be more than about 45 minutes away. HELP?!

A lot of places offer discounts for weekday/Sunday weddings. Maybe if you find somewhere you guys really like you can move the date to a cheaper day to try to fit it into your budget.

I have a lower-end budget, and I'm still having vendors. I'm actually having a shit-ton of vendors because my venue is non-inclusive.

Check the definition of bullying. No one bullied her.

I'm going to be upset if OP dosent even acknowledge Delfina's niceness in finding a venue in her budget.

I didn't ask before assuming, but neither did you...you just assumed she would want a more casual event. If that isn't the case, she needs to consider actual event spaces and not random barns. Someone here posted recently about cow and horse manure being still present in their barn venue- yikes.

Why are you so defensive, Ariana? We were legitimately trying to help OP- and still will, if she returns. One poster found what looks like a good choice for her. Then you came on here making generalizations that aren't true.

@Jessica - Is that $2000 inclusive or do you have a budget for food and beverages?

What about historical homes? Manor houses and the like? You may have to change your "vision" to suit your budget. That's not "negative" that's realistic.

Jessie- just for the venue, I think. Historical locations could be really cool!

If you're having trouble finding a barn available, could you look into doing a tent in a park or something? A tent will cost about $2000 or less, depending on how many people need to fit under it!

What we originally had for our venue was a historic house in a city park. We couldn't fit anyone in the house (we were mostly using it for the kitchen and getting ready) but it was super cheap to rent, and we were going to get a tent for outside where everyone would be. Ultimately we decided against that but it's an idea for that kind of budget!

Ariana I agree.. it's getting ridiculous how far these people are going just to prove me wrong and tell me I have to spend more money

How do you have a date if you don't have a location? Can't you just go with whatever date the places you found had available?

Ariana honey, Many of us didn't have extravagant weddings. We are simple telling OP that her expectations are high for a measly $2k venue budget. She may have to get creative with her vision.

Delfina I did look! It's very cute but a little too far for me :/ but thank you so much for the suggestion, I had never heard of that one, and I thought I'd researched so much I'd seen them all! Lol

@ariana then you MUST HIRE PROFESSIONALS

@op you gave to spend more to get your Dream or change it. Location matters so you CAN move your search and look further out.

@Jessica - We are trying to help you save face. If you would like to break etiquette and have people talk about your wedding (in not a good way) for the next 20 years, by all means, do what you want, "it's your day".

OP no one tried to "prove you wrong" people suggested you might have to alter expectations. Then a very nice poster even gave you a venue suggestion (after you were rude to the community).

Another bride posted yesterday about how she realized that the wedding she had dreamed of was not a possibility and had come to terms that she will still have a fabulous wedding regardless. There is nothing wrong with having a wedding on whatever your budget is. You just need to manage your expectations and properly host your guests.

ETA: no one ran OP off, in fact, she (and you) are the one telling people not to post.

I'm not saying she has to spend more than 2k- most of the venues I looked at were in that range (and coincidentally, most were in the area she lives in). She might just have to adjust what she is looking for for that price, or be flexible on her date. That's the advice she was given- and it's good advice.
