How the hell do you work the two weeks before your wedding?!

m, on July 6, 2015 at 4:51 PM Posted in Planning 0 28

Gotten calls today re: rentals, day of timeline from both caterer & dj (they're not agreeing), generators, a guest list add on, a guest list subtraction and then 12 hours later re-add, an e-mail from the DJ, and I'm trying to get some damn work done, you know - at work.

To top it all off, my mom texted me asking legitimately if it was buffet or a sit down dinner. Holy f*cking shit, where have you BEEN the last 10 months? And the timing of the shuttles, which I still haven't gotten from the shuttle company.

HOW DID YOU GET ANY WORK DONE?!

I can't imagine getting any work done either if my wedding was in two weeks. I guess you just hope for the best!

Really hoping that I can get work done 2 weeks before my wedding considering I am taking the bar exam a week and a half before mine!

Yup, it was my brilliant idea to take the bar July 28-29 and then get married on August 8.

I'm in the same boat. Finalizing desserts, timeline and DJ list with vendors all day today. Thank god I can put off real work.

I still have to call the doggy daycare for the weekend of the wedding today.

I am going to drink some wine today for sure.

Yeah... nope, you don't. I can't either Smiley tongue

BTW I have no idea why my wedding date is not showing (already set my privacy details to public and still won't show) but we're twin dates, I hadn't realized that

I'm a glorified stay at home, or else there was no way I'd have been able to pull off the wedding the way that i did- my poor hubby got laid off, then took a job at a shop he frequents. challenge? Halloween is their busiest day of the year, so he got our wedding day off and that was it. I felt so bad for him! Smiley smile

I can't imagine. I'm a teacher so thankfully I have the summer off. I would be going crazy if I had to do all of this on top of working.

Thank goodness in a teacher! Less than 3 weeks now and I don't know how I would be coping if it had to be at school right now!

This is my last 2 weeks at work period, before having a few weeks off before starting my new job. I am trying to stay somewhat focused but idgaf. Vacation is calling my NAME! I can only image how you feel.

@Stitching, I live in the mountains, we end up in Junction more often than Denver!

I just CANNOT believe it's 4pm here already and I have at least two more hours worth of work, plus a million phone calls to make afterwards, AND walk the dogs AND the goats AND feed the chickens.

    .... is it August yet?

FH and I are moving for his residency, either down the coast or thousands of miles away, right after the wedding. I'm almost hoping it will end up being the latter so I can just put my two weeks in in April and call it day.

The last two weeks before my wedding, all the planning and work had been pretty much done. I was able to just coast the rest of the way. My last day at work was on a Tue. On Wed, FH and I went to get the marriage license. Our wedding rehearsal was in the afternoon, and the rehearsal dinner was Wed night. Thursday I checked into our suite at the hotel, leaving FH at our apartment. One of my bridesmaids came with me and stayed the night. Friday was the day of the wedding so I spent most of the day in our suite getting ready and relaxing with my bridesmaids and flower girl, the MUA, and then the photographers and videographer until the limo arrived to take us to the venue at 5:15 pm.
