Hey everyone! How much is your wedding dress? Where did you find it? Trying to understand the average price women spend and where they found THE dress so I can know what is reasonable when I’m in the stores in a few weeks wish my mom☺️ Thanks so much for commenting!

I got mine at BHLDN. I really wasn’t looking for a traditional looking dress, and was mostly considering an evening gown in a blush or champagne. But then I fell in love with Jenny Packham & her Art Deco inspired designs. No way I could afford one of her gowns with my $1000 budget. But I found one at BHLDN that is in line with the style, and is the sheath style I was looking for in an evening gown. $860 after tax. It was ordered in my size & just needs a slight hem and the straps shortened.
My dress was $2400 total. It’s a Maggie Suttero and I got it from the bridal collection in centennial. I Loved that place and the ladies who worked there, very professional and friendly!
I had no clue of what to budget for my dress but went shopping with around $1500-$2500 in mind. I found a dress I absolutely adore and purchased it that day! Total was around $3000. Blew my whole entire budget and changed the whole feel (planning ideas) of what I thought I wanted for my big day. It was my 1st wedding purchase, we hadn't even picked a venue yet! I have no regrets but definitely do not suggest anyone else go this route! Establish a theme and budget and stick to them!
I paid $449 at David’s Bridal. Then I paid $75 for the bra, $75 for the slip since I wanted the dress to be poofier, and $129 for the belt. I tried it on and it fits great, I just need it hemmed and the sleeves brought up a little so it’s not so low cut. But my aunt is going to do the alterations for me so that will save a bunch of money!
Mine was $1950 with alterations but then I'm having a custom attachable half skirt (tulle, 2 layers) made which costs $450, so $2500 total.

That dress looks amazing on you!
I went to a few shops. First was DB and I found one I liked that was like 650..so of course I figured that's what dresses cost (and i knew I had a decent backup which was great for my confidence). I soon learned through going to other boutiques that my budget needed to be more like 1000 (looking for a poofy ballgown shape). I made an appointment as this one boutique that had good reviews, where the minimum price was 1200. They made sure i was okay with that before booking, and I honestly thought I wouldn't buy one there, so said fine. Yup totally bought a dress there. It was a few months ago so I can't remember exact cost, but I think it was about 1600 with the sash, and no idea how much alterations will end up being (it fit really well..i will need a hem, bustle, and bra cups at minimum though. And it's a 2-piece, so I need to have it sewn together). But FH was shopping with me and like it, and we face timed with my mom and she loved it, so it felt right.
My mom also picked me up a birdcage veil on her recent European vacation for like 12 bucks. I haven't seen it in person yet, but provided I like it, that's savings right there!
$400 at David's Bridal. It will need to be hemmed and possibly straps shortened, so hopefully those alterations aren't too much. Need to find a seamstress... I've heard alterations at DB can be very extensive...
My entire wedding budget is around $8,000, so I had to find a good deal on a dress. Love my dress and it was the right price! I definitely advise setting a budget and sticking to it as much as possible.
David’s Bridal! Just got it yesterday for under $270 with tax. I’d already tried on dresses at our local NY Bride and Groom and had a budget of around $1,000, but would have spent up to $1,500 for the right dress but I loved the dress at David’s and got it for such a steal! With how much we saved we’re planning to add buttons all the way down the back through the train.
Service is hit and miss - there are 2 locations in town, and I wasn’t impressed with the other one, but had a fantastic experience at the DB location we ended up going to! I also really appreciate that they give you better undergarments - a control slip and bra top with boning - to see how things really should look.

You guys look all gorgeous ❣️ I bought my dress at DB for $649.00. I will be receiving the package in March and my wedding is in November. I didn't want to spend more than that because my fiance and I are the one paying for the wedding. Pic: back of my dress
One thing to note about David's Bridal though- I went there and they sold my name and address to EVERYONE. Tux companies, Mary Kay ladies, photo booth companies. I get calls, texts, and e-mails every day and its horrible. So if you go there, try not to give them your info unless you buy something.
Got mine at David's bridal during the 99 dollar sale, after taxes I paid a total of 114 dollars. I'm so happy with it. If you do go that route, search online and make a list of the ones you like, then call ahead and ask if the store you are going to has the dress you want in your size. They have limited stock items available for the sale.
