Hey everyone! How much is your wedding dress? Where did you find it? Trying to understand the average price women spend and where they found THE dress so I can know what is reasonable when I’m in the stores in a few weeks wish my mom☺️ Thanks so much for commenting!

My made up budget was $2k. No real rhyme or reason for the number, just sounded right. I wasn't married to it and was willing to throw it out the window at any given time. By nature though, I typically tend to be a thrifty type of spender.
My dress came under budget at $1700 (after a $200 discount). But, after alterations, taxes and a veil ended up being just shy of $3k.
I bought it at a little boutique in Old Towne Alexandria, VA. Which is probably why the alterations and veil cost an arm and a leg. The price of those two things kind of irritates me a bit, but the dress price doesn't at all. I feel beautiful in it and my FH is probably gonna cry, so it's worth every penny.
It was very important to me to not spend a lot on my dress. Not necessarily because it wouldn't fit in our budget, but there are some things about weddings that drive me crazy (the cost of these dresses!!) and it was sort of a personal belief that I felt passionately about. I bought it online for $83 and paid $120 in alterations.
Prices definitely vary by designer, style, material and amount of bling. Use these numbers to make your budget, then research dresses online to find what you like. You can probably find some prices online. Depends. But mine is $959 before taxes ($1016 after) and alterations. I went to get it custom made so it only cost me 975 after taxes.

I second this. I hate to see people start off a new marriage with thousands in debt, it's so much unnecessary stress to burden yourself with.
I went to a local boutique for mine. It was about $1,800. My alterations aren't until April so I'm not sure how much that will cost. But all I need is a slight hem and bustle so it shouldn't be too much.
Mine was a gift from my mother. It was on sale for 700 but after everything I think it was close to $1,400. I got it at David's Bridal and I knew it was the one when my MOH said it looked like my FH. How weird it that?
My dress was right around $900...I added some accessories so it ended up being a little over $1600 total. I'm guessing alterations will be a other $500?
I went to a consignment store! For a brand new $1350 dress for $250! They can play with prices so I told them my budget and they showed me nothing out of my price range!
