Lauren, on January 17, 2018 at 7:41 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 288
Hey everyone! How much is your wedding dress? Where did you find it? Trying to understand the average price women spend and where they found THE dress so I can know what is reasonable when I’m in the stores in a few weeks wish my mom☺️ Thanks so much for commenting!

Mine is originally $700 but I got it for $415 on super sale at David’s Bridal. Alterations are $305 so about $700 total

I totally broke my budget for my dress. I budgeted $2000 but ended up spending $2700, which I'm going to have to eat somewhere else... I went to David's Bridal, BHLDN, and two local boutiques and found my dress at the last boutique that I went to. I had been looking at pictures of the dress since I got engaged, and the minute I put it on I knew it was worth breaking my budget for.

I also acknowledge that this is NOT the right way to go about doing things, and I don't recommend trying on a dress outside of your budget. Figure out your wedding budget and don't let a consultant talk you into trying on anything outside that budget.

    Good luck!

My dress was 1375$ retail and after taxes and fees, nearly 1600$. I haven’t done alterations yet but they ordered it to my size so, the only alterations I need are a hem. Styles will really vary your price so if you know a style you like, you could see what others who got that same style paid. Hope that helps!

My daughter bought her dress for $150. Minor alterations are all that is needed, for $100. Cleaning and pressing for $150.

I wasn't very happy. I had budgeted $182 for my dress because I bought it online but it was a disaster when it came in. I had to go to a bridal salon and buy one in person which cost me just under $1000.

I originally planned to spend less than $500 (which you can do!) but ended up increasing that to the $1,000 to $1,500 range so that I could get a dress at the bridal boutique I wanted to go to, versus David’s (not knocking it—i just wanted to buy from the other place). I got mine off the rack for $1,300 but spent extra for extra lace to create straps. Alterations are likely to push this up even further.

Definitely dont look look outside what you can spend—is not what I did! Lol! I mean, you can get dresses from $100 to $10,000 and up! I think most of the typical mid-range designers are probably $1,000-$2,000.

I found my dress at a local bridal consignment shop after having no luck at the main bridal retailers and it’s gorgeous! Best part is that it’s been altered and bustled. Which also is such a cost savings! The dress is currently retailing for $900+ at David’s and I was able to get it for $400. They also sell beautiful accessories for much less! Good luck

My dress was off the rack for $895 with tax. It fot me perfectly—no alterations needed. I’m however removing the existing belt and adding one I bought from Amazon. That’s $45-50. Plus steamed and cleaned on the inside. A little over $1k.

I bought mine at a local dress boutique! It was NEW still with original tags for $2,000 but I only spent $600. Great deals can be found!

My budget was $2,000-$4,000 set by my mother. She later admitted she would go to 5k for the right dress. Now this meant I put more interest in her opinion but luckily she made it known I could choose what I wanted. Luckily we agreed on my timeless dress that cost just over $3,000 found at a local bridal boutique.

I wanted to stay as close to $1000 as possible, spent $1135. Its not supposed to come in until March so I'm not sure about alterations, but I'm 5'4" so I'll need a hem. I'm borrowing a veil and belt.
