Hey everyone! How much is your wedding dress? Where did you find it? Trying to understand the average price women spend and where they found THE dress so I can know what is reasonable when I’m in the stores in a few weeks wish my mom☺️ Thanks so much for commenting!

I understand this, and have considered this in the design of the dress. I have lost 115 lbs so far, and am sure that I will lose more weight before the wedding. So I have asked for a functional corset to be made and the style of the dress will allow me to accommodate some additional weight loss. I was concerned if I bought a dress from a store directly I would need to have significant alterations and am trying to eliminate this as much as I can.

My dress was $1600 from BHLDN. Don’t know how much for alterations yet, but no tax for me in NJ!

I'm actually glad your dress is so expensive because it helps me with dress envy, knowing I couldn't have afforded it anyway! If it were in my price range I may have had to ditch my dress!! Seriously though, it really is a piece of art and you look amazing in it!

Mine was less than $700. But with taxes and fees and alterations the total was $1,200. I was a little more than I wanted to spend but I LOVE my dress.

I planned for $1500 but ended up paying $2000. It was the dress I dreamed about so going over a few hundred didn’t matter.

I got my dress at David's Bridal. I spent just over $600 with tax and adding extra length. I'm having the zipper back changed to a corset back and they quoted me $150 for that. I have a family friend who is a bridal seamstress who is going to do the rest of the alterations (fitting, hem, etc) and she is also making my veil out of my mother's and grandmother's wedding dresses.

Thanks for the compliment Maddie :-) I love it too. Like I kind of worship it actually lol. I feel kind of unworthy tbh

I'm actually weirdly kind of embarrassed about how expensive it is; it's definitely not something I would've bought myself and I think certain friends and family members would be aghast if they knew. So I'm hoping they think it looks great but don't realize how expensive they is--which they probably won't lol

Mine was $17.99. Found at Goodwill when I was looking for a last minute Halloween costume for FH. After realizing the average American wedding gown was $1500, I wasn't going to wear an American wedding dress but get a Vietnamese traditional wedding dress made in my hometown in Vietnam. But then I encountered this dress...retails at David's Bridal for $850. Fits me perfectly, and even has a bustle!

Lol, no it really was a 115 lb loss. I was so unhealthy and had a shock when I saw how heavy I had become when I saw my primary doctor almost 2 years ago. I have been purposefully losing weight since then. I probably have another 15-20 lbs to go to reach my goal! But even if I don't lose any more I am happy with where I am now, and am so much healthier for it also.

That's incredible. and the fact that you've spent 2 years losing weight goes to show you really changed habits and are doing it the right way. kudos! *applause*

Thank you 😁, I really have changed habits, mostly with the diet. Small portions, cut out most sugars, and stopped drinking soda and fruit juices.

I totally understand why you would feel embarrassed about the price if they knew, but you shouldn't!! I honestly think its different for people who work in, love, and really understand the craftsmanship that goes into these type of dresses. Someone's heart and soul went into this dress and it is so fun you get to wear it!! But you're right, I'm sure they won't know anyway lol. Plus your wedding photos are going to look amazing Smiley smile

    $100 for my dress
$200 for my ceremony skirt made by my momma
    $60 for shoes
    $10 jewelry made by me
    $100 for my veil
Around $500 for the whole thing, bra and girdle I already had. No pics yet because my skirt isn’t finished yet Smiley smile
