Hey everyone! How much is your wedding dress? Where did you find it? Trying to understand the average price women spend and where they found THE dress so I can know what is reasonable when I’m in the stores in a few weeks wish my mom☺️ Thanks so much for commenting!

I went for something a little more laid back but I ended up buying from frews (if you get online their website is bestbridalprices.com but they have an actual store in illinois), it was a bridesmaids dress I ordered in white, cost me $200. By far more beautiful than the bridal dresses I tried on and its super super soft.
Mine was originally 1645 at the Wedding Shoppe but I got it 10% off. I paid 30 for shipping and I live in MN so no sales tax. And my aunts veil will be my something borrowed.
My wedding dress was $410. I got it second hand at a nonprofit resale bridal in Ann Arbor, mi called “Once Upon a Bride”. The staff there was great and very accommodating. I had a “this is the dress” moment. I was very happy with it the day I bought it but now I am having second thoughts. I wanted something a little bit more lightweight and less heavy because I am having an outdoor beach wedding. It feels like a dated look and I wanted a more modern lacy dress like “Grace likes Lace” but couldn’t afford the expensive price tag that comes along with it. I wish I would have tried on more than 4 dresses. I feel like I didnt try on enough. I wish I would have bought a new dress that was more money instead of trying to stick to my budget with this dress. I can’t make a return because this was a resale dress. What do you think?
I got my dress at a local boutique (I wanted to support a small shop) and paid $2700 for a Martina Liana sheath dress with very beautiful detailing. After purchasing the veil and fur wrap, I paid about $3K before alterations. I initially set a budget of $3K, so I am happy with what I got for my budget. I don't anticipate alterations to cost a ridiculous amount.
My dress was like $1475 after taxes. Haven't had alterations yet. It is by Essence of Australia. I originally started with my budget at around $1200, but after my first appointment realized that I may need to go up a bit to get what I really wanted. My mom was going to pay for the dress as part of her contribution to the wedding, but on the day I said yes to the dress my grandmother was there and bought it for me instead. I don't think I would've been comfortable going over budget though if I had paid for it on my own!!
My budget started at $1k, but I ended up getting my dress for $1200 (not including tax). Going over my budget was justified in my mind with the fact that it was originally a $1500 dress, slashing $300 off, and the designer would customize the straps and add beading all over the dress. So in a way, it’s a one-of-a-kind.
I do not regret it at all. My dress came in a few weeks ago and I finally had my first fitting today! I was so happy with how it turned out. It is absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous! I love my dress!!
My alterations cost came out to almost $450 (includes tax). But they’re hemming it, putting cups to the bust, shortening the straps, taking in the sides, adding bustling, and because of the lace appliqué and beading all over the dress and at the edge of the skirt, the seamstress will have to remove each lace appliqué and beading and then sew it back on after all the cutting and hemming! That’s a lot of work!
The 1st pic was from my wedding dress shopping. The straps were still thick and no beading on. The 2nd pic was seeing my dress for the first time after they pulled it out of the garment bag! The 3rd pic is the front with all the edge of the skirt and sides pinned for alterations during my fitting. And the 4th pic is of the back with the bustle placed for alterations. I was also trying out some veils (which I haven’t decided on one just yet!).
The absolute max amount I wanted to spend on a dress was $2,000. I was able to find the one I really liked for $1,200. I was soooo happy!!! Now I can’t wait til the dress comes in!
My dress would have been $3,000 but I got an incredible, never-worn sample of it from a bridal salon for $1,500! It's in perfect condition, and they will still be able to do the minimal alterations. My mom paid for my dress, but I had set an original budget of max $1,500. She thought I was crazy for limiting my budget that much. I won that bet though! LOL
I got mine at a local store, originally $900 plus $100 extra for the belt, but I got mine for $875 with a 20% discount for purchasing the same day that I tried on, in full.
