Warning -- this is a VERY old post with old pricing!!

The average couple spends 21% of their budget on catering, and 19% of their budget on the ceremony and reception venues. Check to see if your venue's pricing is fitting into your budget by this average breakdown!

My venue, for ceremony and reception, is $5,000. But, it is downtown DC, so that accounts for the enormous pricetag. :-/

The church is $775.00 (includes a $100.00 deposit). This includes the minister and an organist.

Reception place is $500.00. This just includes the chairs, tables, table cloths and napkins.

My venue does an all-inclusive package, but here's what I think it'd be if we didn't book it that way: $4000 for the venue, includes - use of the venue all day for ceremony/reception which includes Bride/Groom changing room and access at noon, all tables & chairs, assistance w/ setup/teardown, staff assistance w/ cake cutting, day-of coordination, parking assistance w/ golf cart shuttle. It may also include the honeymoon suite & breakfast the next morning for the couple, but I can't remember if that's only if you book the all-inclusive package (which includes nearly everything you can think of).

Our venue in Georgetown, Massachusetts varies.

The venue itself will cost us 500. If we have an outdoor ceremony, it's 1000. if we have it inside, it's 500. We are opting for the outdoor ceremony but if weather doesn't cooperate, then we can decide the night before to have it inside and save ourselves 500 dollars. So we'll spend between **** depending on what happens on our day

The venue includes tables, chairs, linens, silverware and dinnerware, and a bridal suite. Food, dj, photographer, and decorations are not included.

Our church was $450 but I do believe we get some of that back and we had our reception venue for free. We just had to pay for food. We had everything we need. She even ordered napkins for us.

300 security deposit, 675 rental cost. That's just for the reception site. I just learned yesterday that tables and chairs are included. For the ceremony site it's 100$ for the location for two hours, and then 700 dollars for the tickets for my guests to get into the fair.

Ours is $275 for the ceremony and reception for 4 hours. The officiant is $100. Not much decorating needed, and tables and chairs are included. It will be an additional $60 for linens.

We're paying 75 dollars for our ceremony site (it's a park owned by the city. We have to bring in everything, and clean up everything). We're paying a whopping ZERO dollars for our reception venue because it's the banquet room at a restaurant and we have to use their catering and bakery (for the cake), so they don't charge for the room. YAY!

$950 for the ceremony and 2 hour river cruise (including the fee for bringing in a caterer).

Depending if we do a larger party/reception later, 600 (300 refundable deposit included) for the indoor location with all tables and chairs or 50 for the pavillion and that only has picnic tables.

Our venue is probably around $5500 for 120 people. But that price includes the ceremony site (a garden area with a gazebo out back), Catering, Bartender, Linens, Tables and Chairs, DJ, Coordinator, Bridal Changing area, and Centerpieces. Oh and we have the venue for the entire day till 2 in the morning!!!!

Wow, these fees surprise me..the church is free, well just 50 maintenance and a donation of our choosing..our reception (hotel ball room) since we have over 75 people is also free :-) Includes table linens, basic centerpieces, reception coordinator, clean up, dance floor; suite the night before the wedding and night of the wedding..they even make a point not to have a wedding there the day before so we can come set up the tables how we want them and everything.

We are having it at the country club. To rent the ballroom is $400 and it's $50 to have the ceremony at the manor on the property.

    $0, a local community park.

The historic church up the street charges $850 for weddings and doesn't allow any photography because everything inside is original, and was in the silent film version of "Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm". There's also a gorgeous winery up the street, we've joked about stopping by to take some impromptu wedding pix instead of paying thousands and thousands to get married there lol. (2nd pic is the winery).

The reception venue across the street doesn't charge, but food & alcohol will be about $17 pp.
