Warning -- this is a VERY old post with old pricing!!

The average couple spends 21% of their budget on catering, and 19% of their budget on the ceremony and reception venues. Check to see if your venue's pricing is fitting into your budget by this average breakdown!

This is a question that is highly geographically influenced. In NJ, the rental fees for a womens club are going to be a quarter of what a historic site would be; in NYC? Look at 5,000.00 and up. Without one carrot stick.

The ceremony and reception are at the same place...It is going to cost $165.00 for 8 hours. It includes table, chairs, use of kitchen, and patio/lawn. I have to use the venue caterer which will be $16 pp and includes all linens and servers. I am getting a huge discount because I work there Smiley smile

    Synagogue (ceremony): $1,500.

Private dining room of a restaurant (reception after the ceremony): about $30. It was a 2% add-on to the cost of food and drink.

    Club (at-home reception): $750.

The synagogue included chairs, etc., in the rental. However, we still needed to rent, buy, or make a chuppah (Jewish wedding canopy), and any decorations we wanted to add.

The private dining room of a restaurant included everything beyond the food--table, chairs, linens, etc. We didn't bring in anything.

The club included a kitchen, bathrooms, a dance floor, a stage for the musician, a bar, televisions to play our video, chairs, and tables. We also paid $250 for an open bar for 60 people for five hours. We had to bring in food, linens, flatware, glassware, lighting, centerpieces and other decorations, and our DIY fauxtobooth. However, we were allowed in two days early to decorate.

The ceremony is going to be at the church we go to so its free and we were going to have the reception at the church as well but we couldnt dance so were having it at a country club down the road it has a $250 refundable deposit (she's going to hold the check until after the event if nothing is damaged) and $250 for the place that we can pay between now and then we are very blessed that we found our venue for such a low price our budget is $1000 and so far we are on budget Smiley smile congrats to everybody and good luck with the planning Smiley smile

My venue is based on people were having aprox 100 at 30.00 each. Its an old barn, We get to bring in our own caterer and drinks, downfall i still have to rent tables and chairs. However on the bright side here venues on the low side are 4,500 and up!! That do not allow you to bring your own caterer. Reception/ceremony included together.

If my parents weren't members of the club, they would have charged us $3,500 for the ceremony and reception sites. Fortunately since they are members, they waive the venue rental fees.

$500 for ceremony. Reception fee is waived since I chose to use their catering services. Not much is included.

My venue is $850 with chair and tables for 6 hours till 2am. Its not a banquet hall but its cute and small enough for what we are looking for. I found this place by accident it was new and they were just startinng off. She including the tablecloths, chair covers. I can bring my own caterers, bartender and it has a patio.

The venue that I want is going for $6000. Is that too much for a venue? I see that everyone else's is roughly $1500. My venue will include everything except food, alcohol and a photographer. Is that a good deal? I don't know much about this stuff haha.

Mine is 3600 but after bathroom rental and taxes it will be close to 5000. It is outdoors and very scenic but that is the maximum I'd be alright with paying.
