Ours were $450 each. However, how much is "too much" depends on a) whether you have the money for it, and b) whether it is important enough to you to want to spend that much money. I'm a big believer that couples should focus their money on what is important to them, whether or not it is important to me.

Mine was 520 but not sure how much alterations are going to be.... i think it depends on the person/budget....i personally didnt want to go over 200$ for a dress I am going to wear for 1 day... and honestly if it were up to me I would have gotten a much cheaper one...but my mom paid for mine and she told the lady her budget behind my back and i didnt know until after it was already purchased that it cost that much...

Without alterations, almost $900. Personally, $2000 would have been way too much for me.

My mom bought my dress and it was around $600. With alterations, $800 or $900...

My dress will probably be about 700 and then probably 200 for alterations...so I am budgeting about 1000 for it and 500 for shoes, hair, make-up, and accessories. Personally in my wedding there are a few things that take priority over others. 1 that I get to marry the man I love, 2 the rings, 3 the dress, 4 the cake, and 5 good photos. So for me even tho 2000 is a lot I would totally go for it if that dress were "the one" if you can afford it and it is what you really want I would not think twice.

It was about $750 with alterations. The dress alone was $450 and it was a sample. It's rather expensive for how much I believe any garment is worth. But as the ladies said, it's really the question of what you can afford and what it's worth to you. I just don't happen to think a wedding gown is the most important thing that ever happened to humankind.

My dress was 642 with tax. Haven't gone for alterations yet but guessing around 200 more. What is too much to me may not be too much to a bride with a 30 k budget. It's all relative

I think the definition of "too much" will be different for every single bride/couple. My dress cost $350, with alterations it shouldn't be more than $600.

My dress was about $550 including alterations but the dress meant 0, nilch, nothing to me. It wasn't my thing. I could have walked down the aisle in any ole' dress. But my decor coordinator found it and I loved it. I paid more for my invitations than my dress! So, really look at what you can afford and the parts of the wedding that are most important to you.

I guess I was second guessing myself (too late now) but there have been things that I have not cared about and things that I have cared alot about so I suppose there was no need to worry about it now I am happy with the purchase but I found myself asking if it was too much and then I felt like if im questioning myself why did I buy it. Ive been freaking over alot of things lately I think my nerves are kicking in, my wedding is in 37 days. EEEEEKKKK!!!!!

$1200 without tax or alterations. It was like $1386 total. I think as long as you don't spend the equivalent of the price of a house I won't raise an eyebrow at you. Everyone can spend what they want. But there are some stories on the news that make me go "Really? She spent 20k on a dress?"

I fell in love with my dress when it originally had a sticker of $750 but when I finally made it in to try it on they had a sale, so spent $399. Have not been to the seamstress yet for alterations but my GF said it should cost about $200.

I refuse to spend over $300 with tax on mine. I just don't see the point in spending so much money on a dress I'm wearing a few hours, 1 day of my life.
